| The Air Optix night&day are the BEST. My eyes actually feel worse when I don't have them in. (My Dr. said they were probably protecting my eyes from allergies and irritants. I can easily wear them for a month straight or more. (They are designed to be worn for a month) I usually do more though and they feel great. I highly recommend them to anyone who wears contacts! I have worn other brands that were painful and dry. These are the next best thing to lasik. Honestly, the difference is amazing.

| I wear contacts when I go out with friends. Eliminates the issue of losing glasses while going out. Although they are very uncomfortable when staring at a computer screen for long periods of time. Forces you to blink to keep the eyes moist. I am going to end up going for LASIK later this year.

I think insurance should cover lasik, and it should be available for everybody who wants it. At least the equipment is even better and prices lower than when I had it done 11 years ago.

| I wear contacts too! Accuvue Oasys for me. I got glasses when I was 12 and started wearing contacts when I was 14, and that was 12 years ago. I've never had an issue with any contacts bothering my eyes so I guess I'm lucky! I tried Clear Care with my last set of contacts, and I ended up going through two full bottles in about a month. My other solution lasts so much longer! But I did like how easy the Clear Care was, it took a lot less time to take out my contacts at night, and I never had to worry about putting them in inside out because they don't shift around in the case! I had planned on having Lasik this year but it didn't work out. I'm hoping I might be able to do it next year. My prescription hadn't changed in a few years but I think my eyes might be getting worse now that I sit in front of a computer screen 9-12 hours a day, sometimes more. My dad had Lasik about 3 years ago, and I know he doesn't wear glasses now but when I think about him I always imagine him wearing glasses lol! It's hard to shake the image I've had of him my whole life!

Learned the hard way too. If it says leave in solutions 8 hours that is what it means. | |

| After years of infections (partly because I slept in them and partly because they didn't breathe well), I found Focus Night & Day. They are very breathable and you can sleep in them. I stopped having infections completely with those. Just be sure you get a new pair of contacts after swimming in a river or lake... I found out the hard way (corneal ulcers). I believe my mom ordered them through 1800contacts.com. They were the cheapest there at the time. I had lasik 1.5 years ago.

Good news tho, I just had an eye exam today, and my dr said there are a few brands that make my rx. My original acuvue 2's are getting discontinued, so I will still have some options.

| Well, I wear the Accuvue Oasis. I have for years. It works the best for me. As for the solution... I use Bio True. It gets my them really clean after wearing eye make-up. My daughter uses the same stuff she's 15. Great stuff!!!! I would love to have lasik done. I am going to be checking into this sometime soon. |

| Focus Night & Day have had a name change. These are currently the Air Optix Night & Day. They are supposed to be the same, just different name, according to my Dr. Quote:

Something to know about lasik though.... - It does NOT take 30 seconds per eye, more like 5 minutes. - Lights are blurry at night. - You become a far-sighted person. I can see far away but can't focus on things close to your face (which I could before when I was near-sighted). I would say it was worth it though because I hated having to think about contacts/glasses every day.

| another dumb question....since I am new to this, I will probably have several of those LOL.... but...as I am trying to order, I see that some lenses only come with certain Diameters. I am having a hard time finding the diameter for my right eye. If I find the diameter, then the base curve is wrong. I am on the website justlenses.com because that seems to be the cheapest place to get them, but I am having trouble getting what I need. what am I doing wrong???

| I've heard nothing but great things regarding LASIK. I am waiting until I finish paying off my credit cards, probably in another 3 months I'll be ready to get it done. Not sure what the cost would be, but I'd rather not get the coupon deal and end up having my eyes ruined for life. What does the operation cost at a respectable eye center? I live in NY if that helps.

Today's prices are a bargain anyway compared to what I paid in 1999, ($4,000. per eye) in Honolulu. Technology and equipment has improved since then too. Good luck.
