That's crazy! I feel sorry for you. You may get more opinions on the lasik thing, the technology is very advanced nowadays, you may be able to get it done w/ positive results.

Something to know about lasik though....
- It does NOT take 30 seconds per eye, more like 5 minutes.
- Lights are blurry at night.
- You become a far-sighted person. I can see far away but can't focus on things close to your face (which I could before when I was near-sighted).
I would say it was worth it though because I hated having to think about contacts/glasses every day.
