His voice isn't as strong...but, he does stay on pitch ......some of these with strong voices end up screaming....

Carrie Underwood wasn't much of a performer when she was at the same stage of the competition as Pia...I don't know I just don't think she was given enough time to evolve. She was only bottom three once and got eliminated...just my two cents.

Yes, but the judges had been telling Pia over the last few weeks that she needed to command the stage......

Carrie had the cute, country factor.....with the South behind her, when someone is from the South...well, they'll keep the voting up...

That is absolutely true. I do agree that Pia wasn't much of a performer (and didn't have the country factor), I guess I just feel for her because I'm extremely shy/stage fright and I can just tell that she was absolutely trying her best and took everything with such grace and poise. I read on E! that she was an absolute emotional wreck after the show on stage...she took it bravely in front of the audience and then shriveled up when the cameras stopped rolling. I think she tries to hide her insecurities and appears stoic and impenetrable, which is why the American audience couldn't relate to her/understand.

Her stoic quality did not endear her to the American Public...sad, but most people don't understand that is a facade......a wall.....That and her being from the east coast....mmmmm, everyone thinks tough girl...

Exactly...I hope she can one day break from her insecurities and just lets it out on stage. It's extremely difficult to get out of your own head sometimes...I can't recall who did you say your favorite was? I really like Paul McDonald, but seeing as a previous YTer said that he has issues with his vocals/needs surgery I don't think he'll make it very far either.

I think she knew she was a strong contender in this competition and had a good chance to win it and was just as shocked as Daughtery was with the elimination too soon! But Daughtery commanded the stage, Pia didn't.

My opinions differ so much from everyone on here. Oh well, that's what makes AI so interesting.

Everyone I thought would be in the bottom 3 based on performances, were.
Last night my dh said "you've already seen this or something!" It's a LIVE show!

Anywho, I was not expecting it to be Pia though going home. I honestly thought Stefano was leaving.

Unlike most here, I love Paul! Also, James (I suspect he will win) and Lauren.
My dh's favorite is Haley.
I used to love Casey and Jacob. Casey has a versatile voice, but I'm getting tired of him for some reason. Jacob just sounds too Gospel or something.
It gets repetitive.

Pia is gone because she lacked stage presence. Nothing more, nothing less IMO. No doubt about it, her voice is phenomenal! I feel for her having stage fright as I could NEVER get up there and sing! Then again, I'm not trying out to become a singer/artist. I'm sure they all get nervous, but it is something that has to be overcome in that profession.

I have voted in years past. I haven't yet voted this year. No it doesn't cost to vote!!! I have heard you can vote up to 50 times online for free as well!!! Might have to vote next week!!!!

I personally like Jacob. James is my second favorite, but I just dont' think he has IT!!! Adam Lambert had IT.....and has done pretty well, but to me James just doesn't quite have the stage presence. (I do not however believe Jacob will win, due to his 'gospel' quality to his voice, but going by TALENT alone, I believe he has the best voice out there this year.')
