To the OP, I agree with most of the others on here that whatever you post (I haven't gone and searched for "the thread" that seems to be under discussion) you have to realize that people are going to respond to it in their own way. You have to have thick skin on this site. Just as there are many different personalities of friends, neighbors, and co-workers, there are MANY different personalities on this site. So many newbies get on here and ask for advice, and then run scared because others responded and told them what they really think (now granted, some members are more harsh than others, but that just comes with the territory!). Bottom line you're right on one thing, we're all here for the love of yorkies and we love to talk about them. If you feel you were mistreated in some way just roll with it, we live to fight another day. By the way, welcome to YT! There are many wonderful people on here with scads of information.

I should have encomapssed the Rescue Angels, the wonderfully experienced pet owners, exhibitors, etc. in my post. The following is a generalized statement encompassing every single YT member - Speaking up is never the problem - it's how we phrase our replies that can be offensive. If we take the time to carefully phrase our replies in a way that isn't degrading to those who will be reading them, we are a lot more likely to get a positive result. Have you ever noticed that it's a lot easier to train a dog with a soft kind voice and a treat than with a harsh word and a jerk on the leash? | |

| Thank you for bringing that up -- heck I must not quite be a true Steel Magnolia yet despite my hair color, 'cause unfortunately I "sweat like a stuck pig". I'm going to have to work on that "Glistening" thing. |

So do I..... I was born and raised in Southern California, but lived in Texas for about 15 years......very different culture. However, being raised in the fifties in Southern California, it was different then. Family unit, manners, etc were still alive and well. There was certain rules on what was right and what was wrong. And by gosh you followed them, because you were sure your parents had eyes in the back of their heads....

| LOL, y'all sound like you came from my neighborhood. It was just like that. And....you had better be in earshot if Mama hollered and you'd better be home by the time the street lights came on. |

| Now are you telling me I fall into that wonderful classification of women that I so admire???? If so, what a wonderful compliment. I guess living in Texas, I learned from the best of them. As a matter of fact my mentor/breeder/adopted mother is the queen of "Steel Magnolias". It took me a while to read through the lines and realize she was telling me I was full of $@%@.....

| And I actually thought my Mom's car had eyes in the back of those tail lights, too! Especially when she'd be out cruising the streets looking for us kids at the park hiding out on summer nights cuz we didn't want to come in while it was still light out...
