I was born and raised in Southern California, but lived in Texas for about 15 years......very different culture. However, being raised in the fifties in Southern California, it was different then. Family unit, manners, etc were still alive and well. There was certain rules on what was right and what was wrong. And by gosh you followed them, because you were sure your parents had eyes in the back of their heads....
