Not sure if your interested in Christian Fiction....but Terri Blackstock is a Christian author from Mississippi and all of her books are so interesting. They are dramas and very good storylines. She has some that are series and then some singles. I've read almost every one of her series. She has a website and all of her books are posted on there and a description of each book. They are the kind of books that you can't put down.....it's like a mystery, with a little bit of romance, but it's not a romance book. Her last series was very interesting.......How would we all cope with no electricity, no cars, no communication........It's called the Restoration Series. TerriBlackstock.com » Welcome hope this helps you some......i love to read!

| The Memory Keeper's Daughter is a really good book. I'm a librarian and it was a favorite in our book clubs. |

| I loved WATER FOR ELEPHANTS by Sara Gruen, and THE TIME TRAVELER'S WIFE by Audrey Niffenegger. For nonfiction: ANIMAL, VEGETABLE, MIRACLE by Barbara Kingsolver (a fine novelist, as well). And then there's always that odd little story about the Yorkie and Santa....

| Twilight series are the hot thing at the school where I work. You would think it would be so popular with the kids because it is written for the young adult, but it's the teachers that can't put them down. I work in the Learning Support Dept at a high school and out of 6 LS teachers and 4 aides, I am the only hold out on reading them. It's not that I'm not tempted to read them, it is now the principal of the thing!! I swear that's all they ever talk about!! They have read them all!! My favorite author is Clive Cussler. If you like action novels with characters that carry over into all his books, you might like them. Dirk Pitt and Kurt Austin (Every woman's fantasy men!) are my favorite characters. Usually his books start out in a period of history when something of importance happened, then jump to modern day where a plot is formed around the historical happening. Love his books!! |

| I am reading The Day after Tomorrow (Allan Folsom)... it was really good! Kind of a murder mystery, action book. I also read the Pillars of the Earth (Ken Follett), very good book. Ive been reading a few good books lately. Those 2 mentioned are LONG so they will take you some time to get through them!

| I agree - the Twilight books are awesome and I'm not a supernatural or romance kind of person - I usually like older type historical fiction type books, but I LOVED Twilight. It's worth a shot to read at least the first one. Alice Sebold is awesome - I completely forgot about The Lovely Bones and Lucky... LOVED these books also. There is also an author I like that I'm just going to suggest - she is a christian fiction writer (just saying in case anyone gets offended) - but she writes mystery type books and they are AWESOME. Another genre I'm not really into (mystery) but loved... she has them in series sets and you have to read them in order in order to get the story. My favorite series is the "Kanner Lake Series". Those books are Violet Dawn, Coral Moon, Crimson Eve, and Amber Morn. Her name is Brandilyn Collins. Quote:

| I'm not a girly novel type either but I adored the Shopaholic series. I just finished Shopaholic and Baby, but didn't think it was as funny as the other ones.

| Oops..didn't finish, LOL Nancy Taylor Rosenburg's books, Sue Grafton (the abc mysteries), Barbara Seranella (the Munch Mancini series). Have you read Under the Tuscan Sun and Bella Tuscany by Frances Mayes? Or Peter Mayle's Anything Considered, Chasing Cezanne and all his books ....A Good Year, French Lessons, A Year in Provence, Encore Provence, Tourjours Provence, Hotel Pastis, etc.....if you like to feel like you're somewhere else, both Frances Mayes and Peter Mayle can take you there; one to Italy and the other to France!
