Yes, it did burn but not terribly bad - it was just uncomfortable for a minute or so. LOL......about your DH......my DH merely raised his eyebrows, he's so used to me putting myself through these torturous rituals to look better.

Ann, did you buy the sample size? I did and it's going to be enough to do probably 4-5 peels I think. They ship very fast which was great. You'll have to let us know how it's working for you too!

This is another good site to get products.....

Peels: Chemical facial peels, glycolic, salicylic, lactic, jessners, TCA

I get mine here because the ph is lower and they don't have extra ingredients and they're cheaper. She also ships very fast......

I am afraid to do anything to my skin

I just wash with Dove and use a light cream. My mom is 67 and looks 47 and never has done a thing to her skin, I think it's genetics and I pray I have them

I am just always afraid that if i try to improver myself I may jinx myself, geez, I never even had a facial

B.J. and Ann - thanks to both of your links, I've been busy reading. Honestly, I didn't think there was much hope for my skin but after reading on both sites, I'm so encouraged now.

After reading I'm now looking into derma rollers too - it's supposed to improve your skin's collagen production. Although it does look kind of scary, I won't be near as brave with it!

Bianca - hopefully you will be as fortunate as your Mom!

I know what you mean jen, I had about given up on my skin getting better at this point. After looking at the peel info I had renewed hope that I could turn back time. lol...I'm going to be sooo disappointed if this doesn't work...

The testimonials on those sites are interesting to read......there is some pics too.....

I have been going for a few months now, I started off going every two weeks on 20% solution, then moved to 40% and I am not on the maintenance which is a monthly peel of 70%. The results are great although I don't have much of a reaction (ie pealing etc.) but my skin tone is better and the wrinkles are definately less pronounced. Any scars/redness etc have almost disappeared.

Sounds like your doing something on the milder side so you don't get that deep peel.....I'm glad to see that even though your using a gentler peel your still seeing positive results....

I had a series of 4 chemical peels done at my dermatolgist's office (I would have no one else do ii!) and I am absolutely thriilled with the results of my skin. I have my glow back again and my skintone is all even now. I did one a month and for about a week each time it was yucky - red for the first day and then the peeling started. I am also prone to cold sores and getting chemical peels will sometimes bring them out in you so prior and during the week of the peel I was given Valtrex and I did not get any coldsores.

The home peels like from Prescriptives is fine but you won't get the results you are looking for unless you go to a board certified dermatologist.

Every time I hear someone loved their results I get to encouraged!....How long ago was your done? .... I've read that after peeling it's extremely important to wear a sun block ( a strong one!) or avoid the sun completely because the skin could hyperpigmentate (?) and/or burn easily....Did your doc. tell you this?

Did your doc tell you you need to use AHA creams or a strong retinol to help maintain your results? ...I'm still learning and it helps when someone went to the doc......

I had them done this past August, Sept. Oct and November since I wanted this all done before the holidays.

Yes to wear sunblock in face creams or your foundations. Well I've ben in the sun and I have had no problems.

I use the ROC products and I love them! Also Garnier came out with the roller stuff for under eyes and deep wrinkles and I love that too with great results.

OK if you really want to maintain your new glow after you spent all that money...lol..you need to invest in a great exfoliater liek the Clarisonic (I asked for mine at Xmas from my husband..lol) - it costs $200 but oh wow so worth it. You can get it on QVC and sometimes they have it on easy pay. I love, love this machine and that also helps to maintain your new glow and reduce wrinkles.
