| Im sorry to those who have already gotten the shot, I did not mean to scare any of you It is so sad that these girls/women are used as guinny pigs just so the government makes a quick buck. I had my daughter at a very young age and my mom never sat with me and talked to me about sex. All she said was you better not be having sex, a few months later I was pregnant. I have told my daughter (shes 13) EVERYTHING that I have been through to get where I am today and we have spoken about sex and drugs. I always tell her if you think you are ready to have sex please come and tell me. while I know its going to be hard, whats harder....Mom I think Im ready or mom Im having a baby. I try to get her to realize that while being a pregnant teenager is hard there are options, If you have unprotected sex and catch genital herpes, HPV, HIV...theres no antibiotics that can cure you...there are no options. we have to be so open with our kids, especially in todays day and age.

| Of course the parent has every right to do what they believe is right but if she does suggest this vaccine for you, have an honest discussion with her and ask her to research it and sit down and discuss it with her.

| I didn't realize that was one of the side effects. So sorry you're having to deal with this.

| My daughter's old pediatrician said it could very likely become a requirement for school registration at a certain grade at some point. If that ever happens I will be finding out how people who don't get vaccinations due to religious reasons get out of them. I understand basic vaccination requirements but it is getting completely ridiculous. For example, chicken pox. Come on- how is this a legal requirement for school? It's totally getting out of hand.

| just read this article about it on wikipedia. This is the line that scared me the most. Although at least 20 women who received the Gardasil vaccine have died, there is no evidence that deaths or serious outcomes were connected to the shot.[31] Where information was available, the cause of death was explained by other factors.[29] Likewise, although a small number of cases of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) have been reported following vaccination with Gardasil.[30][32], there is no evidence linking GBS to the vaccine.[30] I feel as though if 20 people die soon after the shot its not really a coincidence. Gardasil - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia If you've gotten the shot please don't feel like I, or I'm sure any one else talking here, are trying to bring you down or question your choice. It does have a very good track record of preventing the disease. Its the side effects and results that make it so sketchy in my opinion. As for making it mandatory I don't think it will ever get that far especially since its been on the market for less than a year (?) now and there are such major problems with it. |

| The thing about it is, that it truly does appeart o be really good at preventing the HPV viruses and the resulting cancer. But is it safe enough to make it worth it? I dunno. If you have this shot and don't get any of the side effects then you're protected against Most cervical cancer. That's good. But you could suffer horrible side effects and are still able to get many other types of cancers. Its one of those "How much is your health worth and are you willing to take chances with it" type questions. |

Donating YT Addict | i was told by a nurse that this vaccine wasn't a promise that it would work. maybe she meant not all cases are covered under this vaccine. my daughters are 17 & 19 and they don't want it, so i wasn't going to push the issue. it is a good thing if it works, but if you have side effects and things that just linger on........i think they should have done longer studies on this alot of new things make me nervous though
