Donating YT 14K Club Member | Ipod owners...having trouble and I need help! I'm about to pull my hair out! We recently got a new computer. It's a Gateway and has Vista on it. whatever the heck that means. Anyway, I downloaded iTunes...no problem. Today, I went to update the iPod. Program came up that said I needed to update the iPod...did that. I made some purchases afterwards. Here's the problem. I plug in the iPod and it "syncs". But the new purchases do not show up. What is going on? I restarted the computer but it still will not recognize my new purchases. HELP!!!!!

| Try: File> Transfer Purchases from iPod I'm so not good with computers but sometimes I do that and "Sync iPod" and it works.

| Did they download into a program folder on your computer? I don't have Vista, but I download a lot of stuff for my iPod....check in My Documents and see if there's a file for your iTunes....or better yet just to make it easy...go to "SEARCH" on the start menu....click on "pictures, music or video", then type in "mp3" and click "search".....it should come up with any mp3 files. If you find the ones you are looking for, right click on each one, scroll down to "Open with" and then click on "itunes"......and the iTunes library will come up (or should) and the song should be on there. Good luck!

I have Vista on my computer. Sometimes, some of the things you try to download are not set up to run with Vista. Just email the people you bought the other items from... they should be able to walk you through how to download their particular item. I do not have an IPod, (mine is an mp3 player... or something like that) ..but my daughter does. She is very computer savvy and she sometimes has problems getting it to work right.

| I think you probably don't have the new songs in the folder that your ipod is syncing to. On the left side of iTunes you should see your ipod listed. Click your iPod and try to find what folder it syncs to. Then "drag" those songs into the correct folder. I use and iPhone so I cannot give you step by step directions on what to do since it would be slightly different. There may even be a "manually manage music and videos" option you can check. If you do this, then you can drag those songs directly to your iPod. |

| on my iPhone, if I go to the music tab at the top after clicking on my iPhone, then there is a list of "selected playlists". Any playlist with a check mark is the playlists that your iPod is syncing to. Make sure that those songs show up in one of those folders. |

| This stuff is over my head...I make my husband do it for me. He loves a good technological challenge. I tried once to download something and had the same problem you are having. He said it was because it added the songs to the overall library (ALL of the songs that have been loaded, both his and mine) and I needed to move them to my 'playlist' which is what my iPod actually loads. Does that makes sense? Didn't to me. Still doesn't. Good luck with that. |

| Are you sure they didn't dl SOMEWHERE on your iPod? I'm not trying to be condescending, but when I dl songs to iTunes, sometimes the name will be spelled wrong and when I look for it, it's in a different place on the iPod. Meaning, if I have several songs by Donna Summer for example, and one is listed under Donna Summers...it won't dl to the Donna Summer songs, it's all by itself. Does that make sense? Other than that, and again, not to be condescending, but is the song checked on the iTunes list? Usually it is checked automatically and if you don't want it to be loaded onto the iPod you have to UNcheck it...but maybe yours is different. I've had an iPod mini for many years and the only problem I've ever had was that I had to reset it once or twice when it froze. And I use mine for running/walking almost everyday.
