Are you sure they didn't dl SOMEWHERE on your iPod? I'm not trying to be condescending, but when I dl songs to iTunes, sometimes the name will be spelled wrong and when I look for it, it's in a different place on the iPod. Meaning, if I have several songs by Donna Summer for example, and one is listed under Donna Summers...it won't dl to the Donna Summer songs, it's all by itself. Does that make sense?
Other than that, and again, not to be condescending, but is the song checked on the iTunes list? Usually it is checked automatically and if you don't want it to be loaded onto the iPod you have to UNcheck it...but maybe yours is different.
I've had an iPod mini for many years and the only problem I've ever had was that I had to reset it once or twice when it froze. And I use mine for running/walking almost everyday.
