my grate grandma always told me (this was when i was like 8 or so and we where talking about my 15 or so cousins that have been knocked up) "keep your knees together and your pants zipped up"

ROFL.....that's hilarious!

My parents used to tell me they were going to sell me back to the gypsies. I didn't even know what a gypsy was except they wore gold hoop earrings, b/c when I wanted some, my mom said "only GYPSIES wear those".
Of course, that was b/c ONLY Gypsies got their ears pierced

I also got "If you don't shut up, I'm going to slap you silly" (I usually shut up, LOL) and

"How would you like your allowance suspended for a month?"

I am very happy now , I am helping the little ones that need new homes , also I help older peoples when they have difficulties ( income taxes , going to hospital appointments , etc ) .

Wow, my mom is the least maternal woman I've known and sometimes I'm a little shocked at some of the things she used to do but that is rough! Isn't it great when you are finally a grown up and get to have whatever life you want? Thank god mother's only have control over us when we are children!

My mom did the gypsy thing to my brother. She also came up with this bizarre story about "thump thump big feet". Old Thump Thump was apparently a horrible old hag of a giant woman with (obviously) large feet, who would come for bad little boys in the night. You'd know she was coming by the awful thumps of her feet. I know- it's awful! I already said my mom was not very maternal. It's funny though- we are actually good friends now that I'm an adult and don't require a mommy (which she was obviously not cut out to be).

I just thought of some more stuff she does.

Both of my parents tell me all the time "I hope that you have 10 kids JUST.LIKE.YOU." Psh...is that supposed to be an insult? lol j/k.

Whenever I'm making my parents late so I can put on makeup or whatever my dad will be like "How much gypsy war paint do you need?"

And I almost forgot about this one. All of my cousins are a lot older than me, and my parents have been telling me...forever...that my cousin Donna is my real Mom and she had me when she was like 16 and my parents told her that they would raise me so she could have a regular life. LOL nice right? My cousin Lynn (Donna's sister) has a son, Luke, and a couple weeks ago I was over their house and she goes "Luke, you know, Megan is your real mother." and I was just like "stop it right there. I will not let you corrupt him like what has been done to me." of course its all in jest, but for a while I was actually convinced that Donna was my mom.

My folks used a version of this... "Do you WANT me to give you something to cry about!?" This was always after a spanking -- and I so wanted to tell them the spanking they had just given me WAS the reason I was crying. I never had the guts to say it, though!
