| Girl I'm proud of you! Look on the bright side, at least you won't have 20 lunatics screaming and cat calling while you take your walk. My family is SUPER redneck and while I love them, there are times that I wish they were just a little bit more... reserved... in respectable settings. There's a part of me who thinks I would have been just as happy with just my mom because I already have anxiety attacks during important things like that and all those people just made it worse. Plus they complained the whole time about how long the ceremony took, how packed campus was, how there was no parking, how we didn't have enough junk food at our apartment for them to munch on before the ceremony... the list was never ending

| Congrats on your graduation! It is a big deal even if other family members aren't there for your shining moment! My daughter is graduating from high school in June & she is feeling a bit put off by relatives not wanting to come, (both my brothers & their wives just had babies, my sister has three young ones also.) High gas prices, groceries & every day living expenses has made them opt out of coming where they all came for my son's graduation 2 years ago. Don't take it personally (I know it is hard!) Be proud of what you have accomplished & enjoy your family on Mother's Day. Why don't you suggest to your mom (if it hasn't already been planned) to combine all three celebrations afterward so that family & friends can all be together? Congratulations again & Best Wishes!

| Congrats on graduating! We're proud of you! Hold your head high, you deserve it. I finally graduated May 07 (we won't say how long it took me , ) and every day that goes by finds me being thankful for what I accomplished. Families don't always get it. You have a lot to be proud of! Great job!

| Congratulations on your huge achievement!! I know what a huge, huge achievement this is...my son graduates 2 weeks from now and you couldn't keep me away for nothing!! I think maybe if you are the first to graduate, then they just don't understand. People who did not go to college don't always get it...it is hard and takes tons of hard work and dedication. My father-in-law has that attitude about college, he didn't go and doesn't see why anyone else need go and what's the big deal? As far as the other celebration, I think you have to try if you can and separate the two celebrations. I know it is hard, but if you do go with your mom for mother's day, you should go with a good heart (I'm not trying to preach to you here, sounds like it though, huh..LOL) but my feeling is this is a big day for this child too, and you know the hurt you feel when no one cares about your big day, don't take it out on the kid, just because your other relatives are clueless idiots who don't deserve to go to your graduation anyway!! Be proud of yourself...you deserve to be, and the rest of them don't deserve the time it takes to resent their attitude
