| Have you tried unplugging your camera from the USB port or turning it on/off? Maybe your camera is not on? Some need to be charged to upload pictures to your computer. Or, you could click the start button (the button in the very bottom left corner of your screen) and click where it says "computer." Now, you're going to have to guess what USB port your camera's cord is plugged into. (It will be named DRIVE E: or something like that, and possibly have your camera's name.) There might be more than one of these "DRIVE" 's. To make it easier, I would unplug anything thats plugged into a USB port besides your camera's cable. Or, you can try opening a few DRIVE's up til you find something that relates to your camera, and try opening those up in order to find your pictures buried somewhere in there - this is hard to explain, but hey, it's worth a try! If you have questions, or you get stuck, feel free to PM me.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I have vista and had no problems with my two cameras...what camera are you using? Also maybe it will be best to just get yourself a memory card reader and attach that to your pc. Could be your current camera software is not compatable. You can also go to the manufacturer site and look for software updates if the camera is a bit older.

| VISTA is the absolute "armpit"!!!! I cannot express how much I hate it! They didn't have it perfected enough before they began cramming it down our throats!! We have two computers that has Vista ... I will be so happy when mine dies and I can get a new one. I have only had this one for a year and Patrick's is only 2-3 months old and he feels the same way! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you about downloading from your camera. I am able to do that .... it's plug 'n play so all I have to do is plug it into a USB and then turn my camera on. A screen pops up and you can make your choices there. Wish I could help you but am in "Vista Hell" with you. Good luck!!

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Vista definitely has a lot of bugs and it sucks memory like no tomorrow. I had to upgrade my new laptops memory because between that and the new photo software I got it was dragging.

| I just had to buy a new computer and could not find one with XP, all had Vista...........so I may pick up the book vista for dummies. So far I am doing good with it, it has a neat feature I like that will diplay the windows on the screen so I can look at different stuff at the same time. Angie |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Vista is not compatible with any software that was compatible with earlier verisons of windows. It's probably not your camera...it's the camera software that came with it. You can use the picture editor and viewer already in your computer. There are "fixes" on line for incompatiblity issues...but you need to google what you are trying to do...to find them. I was helping a friend...we found them for a printer she had I had already heard about Vista...when I bought my last dell 4 months or so ago. You were allowed to chose which software. I opted out of Vista hell.

Patrick is right the 110gb is good but it's the hard drive. The computer uses the memory which is usually 1 gb and up as a scratch pad. It is the temporary holder. So although you have the large hard drive you need more of a scratch pad (memory) to keep the temporary files your working on. Make sense...the hard drive stores all the programs but the memory is what keeps the speed going depending on what your working on. Go to the manufacturer of the camera and get the updated drivers. It's free and fast.
