| Hello! MY name is Kristin. I live north of Atlanta. I moved here 10 years ago when I married my husband. We just had the big 10 on the third. I will be 29 on the 22 and I found three grey hairs on my head two days ago Okay now you know my trauma! My husband's name is Brock, we have a four year old skin kid named Sarah and a four month old furbaby named Tucker. Hopefully we will be able to add another skin baby soon. I'm totally and completly addicted to photography and was even able to do four weddings last year! SOOOO MUCH FUN! Anyway, I help my husband run his commercial construction company. He tends to be on the road a few months out of the year and my little Tucker has been a great comfort to me I love it here on YT and I really hope when can get the meet-up going in the south cause I'm dying to meet all the great people I talk to everyday! |

| Hi! It is great seeing all the different interests and the similar ones!! I am 45 yrs old, 5'7" tall, a "bottle blonde", and just got my LONG hair cut short! (but it feels great and I like it!!!) I have 2 Yorkies. Shelby will be 4 years in March. Seymour will be 4 years in October. I enjoy YT and surfing the web (usually for Yorkie info). I enjoy scrapbooking, but rarely have time to do it...... or I guess I should say that I don't make the time. We love to go camping...... weekend warriors. Amusement Parks are a favorite of everyone in our family. Cedar Point is our favorite one. I work full time.... it is a good job, but I wish I did something that I enjoyed more. I have 6 more years before I can retire with benefits..... so I need to hang in there if I can!!! Our children are grown (and married) and we have 6 Grandchildren.

| Hello. My name is Jeanette and I live in East Tennessee. I worked in the secretarial field for 48 years and am a Certified Professional Secretary. I retired two years ago. I have been divorced for almost 30 years and have two grown sons and one beautiful granddaughter. My granddaughter has a Yorkie, and that's why I joined Yorkietalk. The best way to learn about a breed is to talk to people who live with them. I have always been an animal lover. I have two Bichons, Lacy, ten, and Cosmo, nine, and a little Chihuahua rescue, Kozanna, ten months. I have a mischevious little six-year-old albino ferret named Cali Rose, and a gorgeous red male Betta fish named The Red Baron. Lacy, my female Bichon, is my best friend and the sweetest companion ever. My male Bichon, Cosmo, is a therapy dog and we visit the Children's Library twice a week. Cosmo loves the kids and he has a huge fan club. Cosmo is a real gentleman. Kozanna is a rescue and she is just learning how to be a well-loved puppy. I make greeting cards with pictures of my dogs and my flowers on them. I have several web pages that I maintain. I like to cook and grow flowers. I am an avid reader, am learning to crochet, and like to write children's stories. My sister, who plays a guitar, and I sing together and we do programs now and then at the library and senior center. I am a Christian and try to be a blessing to others. My faith and my family are the most important things in my life, and my family includes my furkids. |

I love having people i can share my yorkie stories with and I learn so much here...

| Great idea for a thread! Quote:
I am 52 yrs young, have type 1 diabetes, fibromyalgia and chronic pain due to a herniated disc. I am owned by 2 wonderful cats, Moshe 3 1/2 yrs old as is Ya'akov, they were litter mates; and my Yorkie William 1 yr, 1 month and 18 days. I used to have a lot more hobbies than I currently have, x-stitching, needlepoint, photography, ceramics have all fallen off the map. I still love to read (mysteries are my favorite), crochet, work with clay, listen to music and sing along, I am addicted to the "Law & Order" show series', being on the computer (especially YT ), cooking and baking and probably a few others I can't think of at the moment (isn't it fun getting older?? ...NOT) I am Jewish and I belong to a liberal Jewish congregation of about 55 families. I used to teach Sunday School, but it got to be too much for me physically. I loved the kids though, fabulously smart and full of love and compassion for others. I miss them. I am single, have been for almost 8 yrs and I like it. No one else around to make me have to compromise anything! I can do what I want, when I want and where I want. That is bliss! I am content with my life and my little family. ~Melody

I have two bio-kids (girls 27 & 30) and two step kids (23 son & 30 daughter). I have been married for the second time for 11 years. We have one 6 1/2 year old Yorkie girl. We also have a HUGE cat that my husband came to me with. Kitty is mellow and lets our Yorkie boss him around. We enjoy family and we have just starting kayaking. It is great. We have one son in-law and are looking forward to two weddings this year. A new daughter in-law and new son in-law. Have a great day!

| Hi! I love learning about our varied group of yorkietalkers!! I am a Christian - pentecostal and love to be in church - love Christian music - but I'm not someone you want to hear sing . I am rediscovering my exact interests - I just spent 18 years raising my daughter.Thyat was my number one job & I love being a mom. She's off to college 11 1/2 hrs away -- but up until this year, I spent every minute on the run as her mom. She danced 5-6 days a week and was on a competition dance team and also twirled the baton competitively, so on any given weekend we could be at a dance or baton competition somewhere across the Midwest. And 4 weekends a year at piano competitions. She also played the flute, was a 2-time state champion cheerleader and on a Bible Quiz team. For many years she also figure skated competitively and took vocal lessons. We were in a mother-daughter book club for about 6 yrs. So as she says, I ran hard for 18 years and now, I'm resting. I love planning events & parties - my daughter has long said that I missed my true calling and that I'm suppose to be a party planner. She always had the best birthday parties & that is one way I have expressed my creativity. I have an educational background in family therapy and worked for a number of years in the field of adoption - counseling birth moms and also, conducting homestudies for perspective adoptive homes. I am a writer and photographer. I recently learned to shoot and edit professional video. I am passionate about my daughter having a nearly free education at a top university. Last year, I made it almost a full-time job searching for scholarships that she could qualify for - she received over $12,000 in outside scholarships for her freshman yr - because of her efforts - (and the rest from her university-- we feel this was worth our time, even though she turned down several full-rides at other universities.) I loved all the scholarship searching and the process of selecting the best college for her. We visited 26 universities -- in the South, the East Coast & Chicago area. I loved this process with her so much, I have thought about starting my own college consulting business. No one really does that around here, but I'm not sure people would pay for this type of consulting or counseling around here. I've even thought about how I could offer services to travel with students whose parents are too busy to take them to visit all the schools. I love to travel, and don't mind driving. I think about moving from the cold Midwest. My daughter and my grandmother - who died almost 11 mths ago at 103 1/2 were what kept me here. But my parents live in Florida & my brother in Atlanta, so I think of moving South, but I don't know where. I love to read - historical fiction, true stories, positive self-growth books. I love history and used to write a historical weekly newspaper column about homes, businesses and the people who impacted my city decades ago. I love old homes - mine is about 112! Just wish I was a fix-it girl Since my daughter left, I have spent way toooooo much time on YT and the Internet - the most creative things I've done lately is start a yorkie meetup group with Suzy and start a moms group. We call ourselves - SNAIL (Sending Notes and Items of Love) Moms -- we gather together and send care packages to our daughters. Each mom brings 7 of the same items - one for each girl. It is fun to see how creative the other moms are and see how they might choose something I wouldn't have thought of. Our girls all attended the same Christian school - although not necessarily graduated from there. All the girls chose an out of state school. We get together and pray for our daughters and each other and pass out the goodies and notes. I used to raise and bred Bichons and Siamese cats. I no longer have Bichons, and am down to my female Siamese, who will be 15 in about 6 wks. I adopted my 2 yorkies when they were less than 1 1/2 yrs old - they have been with me for almost 5 yrs. I can't imagine ever living life without a yorkie Today, I went to my first dog show (with Suzy ) - very interesting - so much going on at once, and so fun seeing so many different breeds of dogs

| It's so nice to be able to get to know some of you a little! I'm Dena... I live in OKC, OK - origionally from Houston, TX but an "Okie" since childhood. I am a Christian and enjoy fellowship with our church family. I am a recently divorced mother of five skinkids, ages 10, 12, 18, 19 and 22 and "Mimi" to one precious little baby boy who turned a year old on Christmas day.... joyfully, we are expecting a new granchild as well!! I am an RN staff nurse of 14 years - on-floor cardio vascular recovery unit with a state of the art cardio care hospital. Before deciding to persue my nursing career, I spent 8 years in the military as an Army MPO. (military police officer) Currently, I am a furloving homebody since an auto accident back in March of '07 that has left me unable to work. I share my world with two little fur-angels at the moment... (though we are in the process of greatly expanding our Yorkie counterpart family!!) and my home with my room-mate's furfaces as well. My passion is photography, though I haven't had much time to be "out and about" since the accident.... so I enjoy photographing my children and fur-children here at home. I deeply enjoy music of all types and feel like there is always some song out there, some lyric, some melody that I can so easily adapt into my life in the "here and now" or to lovingly cause an old memory to surface.... but I suppose that is true for everyone... and precisely what music is intended to do! lol I have enjoyed, for the most part, my time here on YT and have discovered several treasured friendships as well as a wealth of resources and information! Nice to "meet" you all!!!
