| WE sent one off to UCSB and two years later the next at UC Berkeley. When my husband took the one to Berkeley, he almost made him get back in the car. It was bad. I don't think it started getting easier till after they graduated. The third son went to school in San Diego, but he got married first, so it wasn't too bad, except boy was the house ever empty and I was so lost I didn't know what to do with myself. When you raise 6 sons and they are all gone, you have to get acquainted with your ownself. I didn't know what I liked doing, eating or anything. It's been 10 years since all my sons left the nest and I still have lonely days, wanting them all back again! |

| My heart aches for you. I know how much it hurts to say goodbye to a child. My youngest daughter left home at 17 and we haven't had much contact with her. She stormed out because we refused to let hre spend the weekend with her boyfriend -- a sorry sob we had never met. We have had very little contact with her and not a day goes by that my heart doesn't feel like it is breaking. My oldest son chose to go to a local college and is living at home. He spent the summer after he graduated from high school working on a horse farm in Kentucky and couldn't wait to get back home . RG takes me shopping just to get me out of the house. Our middle son chose not to go to college and is living at home and working. Btw, this is the son who has been cooking dinner for the past two nights. What a love! I guess I am the lucky one in the bunch....... I miss the heck out of both the boys even when work late |

| I think that's why God gave us Yorkies. To help fill holes in our heart left by our children leaving and to fill the empty nest. I know my guys bring so much laughter and love that sometimes I almost feel like I have a houseful of children again. |

| My boys are living close by but I don't see them all that often. Every time they leave the house, I cry. It's not like I want them back home again but I still cry. Sometimes I cry after talking to them on the phone, too. Ho Hum.Cindy - you're right about our little fur butts. Mine have kept me going even when I thought I couldn't - even if it was just that they had to get out to potty. They do make me laugh and get me frustrated. Yes, they are just like having toddlers around all the time!! |

| Oh, yes. I'm so thankful for my four-legged children They do make life easier, but my daughter teases me about how much I spoil them.

| I am sorry to say this but I don't think it gets any better! I myself haven't had any kids yet but my mother and I go through the same thing still today. She lives almost 10hrs away and cries continually about it. All I can say is look at how much your daughter has accomplished and look where she is going. You as her parent have accomplished what you were supposed to do in giving her love and providing her with the best future! So those tears should remind you of your creation and that continuing growth she does as an adult. Thats why I will never go a day without talking to my mom, and even if we are upset with each other I ALWAYS say I love you when hanging up, as I nor anyone else can predict what tomorrow may bring. I am almost 25 and we still struggle being away from each other. Just (I am sure you are) be proud and give those fur babies EXTRA love to heal your hurting heart!!! xo *parker licks* and tons of *hugs* coming from over here!! |

| I know how you feel, my youngest just moved out last month and it was really hard at first, she is only 30miles away and we do talk everyday, but still its not the same, sending you a big hug.
