Also...buying from a pet store is NOTHING like rescuing .....You really should google puppy mills and see how they live...DEPLORABLE conditions, kept in cages, sleeping in their own feces, wire cages where their paws are sliced up from walking on the wire, dirty, matted....I could go on and on...not to mention these dirt bags just keep breeding and breeding these poor females every heat...just for the sake of money. AND...buying from a pet store promotes puppy mills....you bought those 2 precious little pups to make room for 2 more....YT is an EXCELLENT place to learn about this breed. I am not yelling or reprimanding you by any means..we here at yt are very passionate about this breed...as I'm sure you already know that...if you do choose to breed these pups...I hope all goes well and you have beautiful healthy puppies....but, I would REALLY do TONS of research before you make your decision...

If dogs can talk, they would say: 'DO NOT BUY FROM PUPPY MILLS AND BYB! SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS! LOVE US AND PAMPER US FOR LIFE!' OP, please go over the Sick & Injured section w/your vet hubby. Most of those dogs suffering from congenital illnesses are all products of bad breeding! You do not know what kind of 'HIDDEN' genetic markers that carry the bad genes that can be passed onto their pups are in your dogs...Please spay & neuter your pets. Love & pamper them for life. GO tag team GO!

| The Op is going to do what she wants, to make this some debate thread is just silly. - All I can say is do a lot of research on breeding, make sure you have all your ducks in a row when you make that choice- Congrats on your babies they are adorable- Good luck to you-

OP, you have really adorable babies, but it's really not the best idea to breed the two. I mean even if you you do get yourself educated the fact that these are puppymill dogs does not change. It's been said many times before that you most likely don't know the lines that either of these dogs come from... I'm not jumping on you or anything, but the best thing to do would be to spay and neuter them, and love them for the rest of their lives.

NO I dont' think so, never! I put a lot of time and effort into asking the right questions and into finding great homes for all of my pups. It is my goal to see to it that each family is the perfect fit and can handle the addition of a new pup to the mix. I do several interviews before even accepting a deposit to hold one of my pups. Just to put this to rest I will tell you why some pups in pet stored are not always from puppy mills. It is because some are mixed breed pups that came from an every day home, where the family pet got nocked up by a stray dog or an un neutered house mate or however the pregnancy occurred. Some of you took what I said and got all defensive. You didn't even consider the fact that what I said was possible that there could be another reason why pet shops have different types of pups in them. So, 'yes" Not all pet shops deal with pure breed dogs and not all of them come from puppy mills but, just irresponsible owners! I have had pups from those type of pet store...both pure breed and not so I know.

| That's the problem they cant put it to rest- they will continue to beat the dead horse over and over- Do not feel like you have to answer to anyone.. We will always have pet stores that sell puppies, we will always have millions of dogs in the shelter, we will always have people wanting to breed, A couple people on YT is not going to change that! If people really cared maybe they should go about it in a different way , maybe they should try to educate rather than making comments I have read on this thread!! B]z[/B] Quote:

Why, after all you know, do you still stand behind pet shops? Didn't you buy Peanut from one? You used to be so proud that you saw pet shop after pet shop go out of business in Riverside Co. And now you are standing behind people who support them? It may be a long and hard battle to get rid of puppymills and pet shops but that doesn't mean we should all just turn the other cheek and think we can't do anything about it! Fact is, there are may on here to thought about breeding and changed their minds. I am one of them. To do research, proper research, would lead one to realize that you do not breed pet quality dogs. THERE ARE TOO MANY PERFECTLY GOOD PETS THAT GET PUT DOWN EVERY YEAR DUE TO PEOPLE BREEDING THEIR PETS. End of story.

ETA: of course pet shops would take in unwanted pups, so they can make more money! Pay the family say, $100 and turn around and sell the pup for $600 with no papers? I've seen that here in my county as well. Mixed breed no paper pups going for $1000 even.
