DBlain, I don't think you were rude to me. I just don't happen to agree that giving my dogs age was relevant to what I was saying to the OP. I don't think there is anything wrong with polite differences of opinion. But there are some posters on here, however, that don't play nice in the sandbox.

I feel the OP was attacked. I also think there was many other ways of trying to get the point across… I also don’t think her husband being a Vet should know more or less about puppy mills than I do, my Vet has been a vet for 10+ years, he is rather old school- I doubt he would tell me anything I don’t already know about puppy mills. To make that judgment on her husband is just ignorant. Not everyone bases their lives on stopping puppy mills or spreading the word around so not everyone should be treated as such.

Making a statement that a reputable vet should know about puppy mills is not ignorant, and HOW DARE you even infer that my post was. Any vet worth his soul should know about puppy mills and puppy stores, and especially know more than a lay person would. Regardless if they are old school or not they still must do continuing education each year, read journals, read or hear the news and I am sure most have had their fare share of puppy mill patients. If I had a vet that would encourage the purchase and the breeding of two pet store pets I would run, not walk from their office. I also agree with not bashing posters or OP's and have not done that here, however I was trying to shed some light on the reason why on this thread it occurred by so many people.

Do you think everyone is the same? You all try to get your point across about puppy mills but you do it in such a manner nobody wants to listen. Take for example the OP, She isn’t even going to come back because how some of you treated her. Some of you even doubted her husband being a vet!! How Rude is that??

LOL IMHO the jury is still out on that one.

you lump me in with the wrong group, but that's OK, YT is a big place it's hard to keep track on what everyone stands for, but if you look back on this thread you will also see I felt people might not have expressed themselves in the kindest manner. No matter what the subject is or what one's belief is I feel respect and kindness is the best approach on ALL posts. I also see while you chastise those that questioned the OP in a manner you don't approve of, you don't mind doing the same thing to posters you don't agree with or even understand.

I have been here a long time, I have seen a lot. A lot has built up, maybe I need to work on a couple things with myself and maybe I don't.. I might be very opinionated, but my stronger opinions have been to members that have been here for some time, never to a new member. I know that doesn't make it is right, but I feel newbies should be treated a little differently because half the time they are still learning, and you can’t teach someone that doesn’t come back on as a member because everyone was rude to them.

Yes - my husband is a vet and he talked about puppy mills for the years that we had been married. He doesn't support it. Neither do I. But at the same token, he opposes putting down puppies just because they come from puppy mills. It's no different than rescuing an abused animal. For those who oppose or on the negative side, not to get personal but I'm just curious, what qualifications do you have? It really is none of my business and I really don't care, quite honestly.

If you're all passionate of the breed, why don't you all step it up a notch and start a campaign to stop puppy mills? It seems like you all have the time to be active in all these posts. Instead of spending a lot of time agreeing to disagree, initiate a campaign to stop all these puppy mills.

I am sorry you are out, although I can after reading the many pages of this thread understand I think why.

You asked what creditenials or experience we as posters have; I have shown and bred dogs to championships both in conformation and obedience for over 10 yrs now.

Quite simply I would never take two pups purchased from a pet store with unknown lineage, unknown health, and even consider breeding them from the get go. Of course you made no mention of even trying to earn a CH title on either or getting the breed specific pre breeding tests and evaluations so necessary for the Yorkie breed. And yes those tests are necessary to try to do your very best to breed "at the minimum" healthy examples of the breed.

And in my opinion one doesnt' "rescue" a dog from a pet store, they pay as a consumer the money, and quite frankly make more room, for more poorly bred dogs to take their place.

I'm glad your husband is a vet, but by being a vet in no way makes him in any way a breed expert on Yorkies. Unless of course he has been involved in breeding Yorkies for more than 10 yrs, and has shown, and has taken all the breed specific seminars, et al. Does he know the incidence of LP, and LS to name just two of the genetic conditions prevalent in this breed? Does he know the latest testing protocols for same?

I do say I am disappointed ( but not surprised) that yet another vet is onboard with the idea of breeding two unhealth tested dogs, from unknown lineage. I have encountered this before with vets. It does make me wonder how truly "onboard" vets are with the mere idea of good "purebred" dogs.

I understand that being here a long time can cause things to build up, I have not been around as long as you, but I am here often so I know he feeling. When being opinionated, vocal and critical when quoting someone's post like you did with my first one today I think a person should try to understand what the poster, in this case me, is saying it better. While not everyone agrees with my posts they usually understand them, and in this case I was trying to explain to a member that said she was new why her post got the reaction it did. Your comment I feel there was no reason to give a response like that. I wont go any further, I will leave it at that. was exactly like the ones you are opposed to and really not on point since all I was doing was explaining something to the poster.
