| She's adorable, I would keep her, but demand my money. She looks like she has some Cairn Terrier in her, just as adorable as a yorkie. A Cairn was the dog in Wizard of Oz, I believe. Enjoy! |

I will let you guys know what the results as soon as the lab posts them. I don't think the breeder is going to be very cooperative since she intentionally lied to us all along. She lives on a farm about 27 miles from me so its not a quick trip either. Do you think I need to wait for the hardcopy lab results? or should I dispute it now? | |

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I'm not sure why you have two different threads going here, but I'll give you a little more info than I put in the other thread... When I saw your pics I immediately thought of Monty and Rommel, a pair of border terriers featured in "Monarch of the Glen." Here's a link to the page on wikipedia that describes this breed and has several pictures. Border Terrier - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia . I'm glad you love your dog, no matter what she looks like or what breed she turns out to be. Unless you're a breeder, I think your relationship with your pet is much more important than her genetic background. Not saying I wouldn't be upset if I found out the breeder had deceived me. I'll be interested to hear the results you get back from the test. |

| Thank you for your reply. I have two threads because I am having a lot of delay when posting messages. It seems all my threads are needing moderator approval. I still don't see some of my posts. |

| @ Perrella I can't seem to quote without needing moderator approval. Awe! Yes, I love my baby too. She already does sit, lie down, shake and fetches a ball for a treat. We are currently working on roll over. ![]() Do you think I need to have the Wisdom Panel results before I go to the breeder for a refund? The breeder lives on a farm 90 miles from me, so it won't be a quick trip. :/ Anastasia |

| She does sound like a smart little baby girlie for sure. If it's only a week, I would probably not tip my hat, but have the proof in hand. I agree, she not cooperate at all. Did you actually visit before getting your pup? Just wondering how many breeds she has there? How many dogs, did they live inside or outside. Oh, did you see the parents of your girl?

Yes, I did visit before purchasing the dog. I saw her at 4-5 weeks and she looked just like the Yorkie pups seen here: pictures So, I gave a deposit on her. The breeder dropped her off at 8 weeks and she looked like she does now, pretty much. I am wondering if she changed that much? or if the breeder switched the dogs... The pup I saw was being fed by her mother, who was clearly a yorkie. But, the father was not present at the time. She said that the father was her parents' dog and at their place. | A mixed breed for sure- I will be interested to see her test results to see what she is mixed with. But that aside, she is adorable! And really personality is far more important than looks- if she has the perfect personality for you, enjoy her!

| I would tell the breeder you are having the DNA done..and will show her the results...what do you want the breeder to do...refund all your money, which the breeder does not have to do...refund part and you keep your puppy or return the pup for a refund...it will pretty much be a small claims count route...any breeder that sells your puppy as purebred does not sound like they care about the buyers side of it... A judge would give you a choice of returning the pup for a full refund or paying you the difference between a purebred and and a mixed breed pupp..which could be more or less depending where you live...here in south Florida I see people pay a lot of money for a "designer" breed..when they could buy an AKC pup from a show breeder.,.. |

| Oh your baby is soooo cute please dont send her back because she isnt a pure bred. I understand that believing you purchased a pure bred that you probably paid allot of money, but you have said she has all the characteristics that you wanted. and that you love her. If your results come back proving she is not what you were led to believe, I would certainly bring that to the breeders attention and ask for some of my money back but I would not let the puppy go back, If the breeder doesnt want to refund some of your money then I would suggest letting them know you will be taking your proof to your local TV station to shed light on their dishonesty a breeder never wants bad publicity. She is so cute please keep her. Mary and Charlie |

good idea!!! Sorry your baby definitely doesn't look purebred....she looks ALOT like a puppy my daughter got years ago...she was told her baby was purebred too...but she most certainly wasn't!! People will say anything to make a buck!! But she is adorable!! And sounds like her temperament is exactly what you wanted!! Get your money back...and love your precious baby!!

| When you visited this Breeder, did you see the parents of this litter? I have to agree with the others here that your lil' one looks to be mixed but, absolutely adorable! Not sure if the CA Puppy Lemon Law might apply to this situation but, it might be worth investigating. In any case, I would certainly voice my unhappiness to the Breeder regarding the the sale of this puppy. I would definitely wait until I got my testing back for added leverage, too. You should be able to keep your puppy and receive a full refund for her for the Breeder deliberately deceiving you...imo. Here is some CA Puppy Lemon Law information I found: California Law This Law is the most hard on sellers of unhealthy dogs, but hobby breeders do not fall under its provisions except for the extremely active ones. As with the Florida Law, it is important to note that costs of testing to certify a dog unhealthy could double what a seller is obligated to refund to the purchaser. It is also important to note that this Law obligates the seller to cover 1½ times the purchase price of the dog in veterinary expenses should the purchaser elect to have the dog treated. Pros: long period in which to find congenital or hereditary conditions Update 4-6-2001 Pertains to anyone who sold, transferred, or given away two or more litters during the preceding calendar year. See: AB 161 Cons: obligation to cover veterinary expenses above the purchase price of the dog may be considered punitive. * Applies to: any one who sells more than 50 dogs per year. * Contagious or Infectious Disease: 15 days * Congenital or Hereditary Defects: 1 year * Failure to Produced Advertised Registration Papers: yes, within 120 days, otherwise return dog for full refund or receive refund of 75% of purchase price if you keep the dog. * Replacement: yes, plus reimbursement for veterinary expenses related to certifying the dogs illness up to the price of the dog including sales tax. * Refund: yes, plus reimbursement for veterinary expenses related to certifying the dogs illness up to the price of the dog including sales tax. * Reimbursement of Veterinary Expenses to Treat Dog: yes, up to 150% of the purchase price of the dog plus sales tax.

| YorkieTalk Newbie! | Oh my! I wonder how much you paid. That sucks and I would very be mad. I am sure your puppy is a sweetie but your puppy without a doubt in not a pure yorkie. Did you not know what a yorkie pup looked like? What did the mom look like? Dad on site? I would march right back to that breeder and get my money back-but I would keep the pup because a lying home is probably not a nice home. Sorry |
