yes I do (it's about the only thing I CAN get her to wear at the moment) I found that the coats and her harness was making her hair matted too, another reason for getting it cut. She definitely needs her coat at the moment....we have snow at the moment! xxx xxx

$ 18.00 plus you can stay and have tea and watch. That's terrific. Here in the states in PA. I pay $ 28.00 plus tip and have to drop him off and pick him up 2 hours later!! Your little Twinkle has the cutest face...The groomer did a great job. Baron was blk/tan until he was groomed @ 7 1/2 months and was blue/tan after all his puppy coat was gone. Everyone thought I got another dog!! It took me awhile to get used to seeing him short haired!! Take-Care,

Yes I thought it was a great price too! (That was without a tip of course) I found most of the groomers in my area to be around the same price for a yorkie, and then the larger the breed the more it costs. I liked that I could watch too - they dont like you to be actually in the room but you can watch everything that's happening on a monitor (and of course in England we dont do anything without a cup of tea! ) or you can go home and they call when they've done. i won't let the groomers wash milu because they take milu to the back room where i am not allowed, and all i can hear is all the dogs back there barking.
i don't trust them enough!!! so i always wash milu myself and bring her in for a hair and nail trim.

sounds like you found a really nice place to take twinkle!

here it's $15 just for a nail trim. and no TEA! lol

Thanks huni No, I wouldn't like that either! It would be like taking your kids to the hairdressers and the stylist taking them out to a back room! I normally bath Twinkle at home - but I'm not brave enough to attempt cutting anything! xxx xxxx

thank you for comparing it to skin kids, because i feel less like a crazy person now

actually the first time i took milu to the groomers, i let them take her to the back to wash her. they wouldn't let me follow them, and i had to stay in the main room, i totally had separation anxiety

people in the front room kept asking me if i was ok. lol

i peeked in the backroom, and i saw the way that they were handling milu which made me angry. they kept pushing her away, because she wanted to be held by the groomer because she was afraid of the hair dryer they were using on her. but the groomer just kept pushing her away and pulling on the strap thingy, so it looked like she was dangling from it a bit.(cause she is little and skinny)

it was awful so i never want to have her out of my sight again if i can help it!!!!

i did find another groomer that i feel better with, but i still don't want to let milu out of my sight!!!

That's horrible! Our yorkie babies can't tell us if someone hurts them so I think it's a good idea to watch what's going on. I understand that alot of groomers find the dogs easier to handle if the owner isn't there, but watching from a distance at least should always be allowed. (Not that I'm bashing groomers - I know that for every bad one there are a thousand great ones) xxx xxx

That's terrible! I would've been so upset if I'd seen someone, especially someone I was paying to do a job, handle my dog like that! No wonder you dont like taking her to groomers now, such a horrid experience! It's completely understandable to be protective and concerned about your little dog, I mean they are so volnerable and very easily hurt/scared.

I'm in search of a good groomers now for the first time...wish me luck!

that's exactly how i feel. that they cant tell us if something bad happened to them. that's why i always stay at the groomers with milu whenever i take her. it's a lot better now, i found a groomer that i feel good working with. (not good enough for her to take milu to the back though, because i can't stand hearing all the doggies back there bark)

they are not BAD groomers...i mean, not everyone has the exact same definition of what is too mean and what is not. my definition of what if too mean is very different from the groomers...otherwise, i wouldn't have to take milu to the groomers in the first place lol.

(also, milu wiggles too much when i try to cut her nails or trim her hair)

it's hard taking milu to the groomers, because she is a sweet dog, and she get so scared while she is there, she shakes the whole time she is being groomed.

good luck to you with your search for a good groomer. you can ask your friends and family to see if they recommend anyone. (you can also search online for customer reviews)

also, if you want to take her to a chain store, most of them have the window for you to look at the dogs being groomed. you can check out the diff. groomers and see who you would like to be your groomer based on the way they handle the dogs.

honestly, most of them seems kind of mean when you observe over the window. but in a way, they have to be a little tough...otherwise, they will never get anything done...

it is obviously the best if you can learn to groom your baby yourself. but...it takes a lot of patience....which i don't have. lol

Twinkle toes is looking beautiful! sounds like a good groomers..not easy to find..Pixie's first groom was a nightmare! but I have found a good one now thankfully!
