Quincy looks great... you've done a good job and so has your mother even though she may not know it... she has given Quincy someone to love and I'm sure in time... she'll love him just as much - how could she not love that face - right??!! Glad Quincy is doing well and that potty training thing is not easy any way ya slice it...but in time...that will come too. Give him a big ol' puppy hug for us all. Daisy's Mommie | |

| You have a big heart! Poor little one! He looks like he needs a lot of love. Yorkies are so amazing! They return your love at least 4-fold! Make sure to scratch his head and tell him he is a good boy everytime he walks your way! After a while when he knows he's there to stay he will show his love! He probably is really sensitive about making mistakes in the house, so maybe you don't want to even say a word if he makes a mistake. Just praise him like nothing else if he goes in the right place, and give small treats! My Chibi chan gets really sad if you tell him no when he makes a mistake. We don't say it anymore and 99% of the time he goes in the right spot. Everyone had there own method though...Basically everyone will agree that it takes time and a lot of patience! But when it happens it's the happiest thing in the world! And if you can, keep him near your bed when you sleep. Yorkies do love to be with their family. They are pack animals. You are his pack! Our little guy sleeps right in the bed with us...but he is mostly potty trained..so probably wait on that... Good luck! And welcome to Yorkie talk! I can't wait to hear about his progress!

| Firstly, Welcome to Yorkie Talk! You are a very special person to make a place in your home for this special baby! He is such a cutie but has such a sad look to him. It must be all the time he was abused, ignored and finally abandoned in the woods.. It will be a taskly and lenghtly process but it will be worth all your efforts in the unconditional love this little guy will return to you for sure! It is doable with alot of patience. You Can teach a dog new tricks thruout his entire life! Please keep us updated on his progress!

I am also glad that you got Quincy sounds like you have the patience he needs he probably was never trained properly to begin with so I agree Patience is the key also I think I would go straight to kennel training and bringing him out to your garage set up I think he is going to love eventuly. Congratulations on your new yorkie. He is going to love you unconditionally as soon as he figures out you are his best friend. Good Luck and best regards Linda |

| Hi Cal. You're great person for giving Quincy a home. Quincy's just adorable! As for riding in the car you could get yourself on of those doggy booster seats (I have one and they're great). Then Quincy can look out at the world and be safely secured at the same time! There's loads of people with loads of really great advice on this site - and loadsa folks who have rescue dogs and can help with that aspect. I just had a wee thought on Quincy following your mum around and "using" you. Perhaps because she ignores him (you said she wouldn't pat him) he sees her as the "alpha dog" and so feels much safer when he's near her. You might like to read a copy of Jan Fennell's "Dog Listener" books - ignoring a dog's calls for attention is one of the ways she suggests that you can "dominate" your dog.
