The OP was not responsible for any fees....in lieu of paying the fee she had to give up ownership of the dog. And no not all of us.

I am 1000% serious and please don't put me in the category of "selfish by nature". I put my dogs before myself in a lot of ways. You are posting on the wrong board if your passion is not with your Yorkie! That poor dog was not given a chance to have a good life EVEN though it was offered!!!

| I do agree that the OP could have handled the situation much better. However, I also believe that some of you could have handled your words much better. I understand that most of us our huge animal lovers but some of the things some of you are saying are way out of line and I really think it'd be wise to cork it. I'm sure the OP clearly sees that he/she shouldn't have posted this here. To the OP, may your sweet baby rest in peace.

I think the OP thought. "I have to pay "XXX" for an overnight stay, and somebody else gets him, no fair."

| Enough said, but I will say that I would have done anything to keep him alive even if someone else got him. I might even put a mortgage on my house.

I'm sure I'll be shunned for saying this, but if Maddie or Libby were seriously injured and my only choice was to turn them over to a rescue, I don't know that I could. I believe a good part of recovery from surgery is being with their loving family and the security of familiar surroundings. Instead they would be amongst strangers and grieving for their family and loved ones and that, to me, is cruel. This person is grieving the loss of her yorkie and there is no reason to badger her and try to make her feel worse than she already does.

| well diddy nyc is a male. some of you are referring to me as being a female. i really regret sending him away like that & should have dished out the cash. At the time of making my decision, i was looking at it from a financial point of view. Me & my fiance will move on & get another puppy down the line. This time, we'll get the proper insurance. We should have gotten insurance to begin with, but you never think of the worst case scenario until it actually happens. |

Sorry for referring to you as female...Also I just want to say that I'm sorry this thread has gone so sour. I'm sorry for your loss and I am sure you do feel badly about it and none of us should make you feel worse. So I apologize for adding to your pain.
