I do agree that the OP could have handled the situation much better.

However, I also believe that some of you could have handled your words much better.

I understand that most of us our huge animal lovers but some of the things some of you are saying are way out of line and I really think it'd be wise to cork it. I'm sure the OP clearly sees that he/she shouldn't have posted this here.

To the OP, may your sweet baby rest in peace.
