I'm so sorry to hear about your baby.

I think you should explain to your husband how hurt you feel that he isn't really considering your feelings. It is hard to spend money and have the puppy die, but your relationship with him and your feelings about getting a puppy are more important than money. I would have a heart to heart with him about it. Then, when you are ready, I would start looking for a rescue/rehome that needs the kind of love and caring that you can give to yorkie. That way, you show that you are considering hubby's point of view about the money, but he must also see your point of view about wanting a yorkie. Good luck!

He has spent all morning on the computer looking for one who needs to be adopted. He really is considerate to my feelings or he never would have bought the puppy.

did you see where someone replied and said they have a yorkie they need to have adopted?? you should look into that!!

i did but its a 200 dollar adoption fee for a poor thing that has a heart murmur. My husband is skittish on spending money on we know has a medical problem after spending soo much on trying to save teddy

The $200 is to help ensure that the person who takes her is able to deal with possible medical expenses that might occur down the road. Not that its a guarantee because everyone runs short some months. Hopefully we all know by now to put some money away when possible for medical issues but its just too dangerous to give a Yorkie away for free. Especially one that cannot be spayed.

It sounds like your hubby is starting to come around since he is looking on the internet for a new baby. I knew he would, its just impossible not to love these little fur faces! Remember, there's no hurry. Take your time and make sure you find a good breeder and don't just look for the lowest price. Good luck. Let me know if you need anything. Good Luck in your search

Almost forgot, post a thread in the Yorkies for Sale or Wanted Section. Post what you are looking for and be sure to include info on cost if you have a price limit. Many YTers on here have puppies that might fit what you are looking for.

This is a great breeder and the price can't be beat! Not to mention, the baby is gorgeous! And it would be a gorgeous drive up there to pick him up. I think its time for a Road Trip

i know this is the "golden rule" but i so disagree with it. "it" whatever that was could have happened at 10 weeks - but since you don't know what the problem was it is hard to say. i just don't believe this can be the case with every dog. i got romeo at 6 weeks and we never,ever had a problem with him. he was already eating a little on his own so it wasn't a big deal to seperate him from his mom. we got him home and he did not cry once that night! he is the sweetest little man. i think this should be determined on a case by case basis. i am so sorry you lost your puppy and i hope you find another one.

6 weeks was waaaaaay to young and i don't want you to go thru life with out a baby and I really don't want you to think all breeders are the same If you will pm me I am going to see that you get a healthy and right age baby - I have some babies now and more that will be ready soon .go look on my website and see if there is one there that could melt your and your hubbys heart.

I'm glad it worked out okay for you but I could never say that this practice was okay. I would never ever take home a yorkie that young. I rescued Lily at only 7 weeks. She was the youngest rescue I ever did and every day was touch and go with her. I'm happy that your situation turned out well but I think it was the exception. Not to mention that it is a huge red flag that you are not dealing with a reputable breeder if they are willing to let a pup go so young.

If they do make it, you are going to have a nightmare with behavioral problems later on. They have problems with biting, growling, and aggression just to mention a few and are much more difficult to train. They need the socialization with the other puppies even if they are weaned. I could never recommend this to someone.
