| ![]() I find it interesting the judge allowed her to compete this is off the UKC site http://mail.ukcdogs.com/ukcweb.nsf/8...A?OpenDocument COLOR Puppies are born black and tan and are normally darker in body color, showing an intermingling of black hair in the tan until they are mature. The mature coat color occurs gradually; therefore, puppies should not be faulted for lack of color change until they are two years old. The colors in adult dogs are: BLUE - a dark steel blue. TAN - All tan hairs are darker at the roots than in the middle, shading to a still lighter tan at the tips. On the body, the dark steel blue extends over the body, from the back of the head to the root of the tail. The headfall is a rich golden tan, deeper in color at the sides of the head, at the ear roots and on the muzzle, with the ears being a deep rich tan. The tan color should not extend down the back of the neck. The hair on the chest and legs is, a bright, rich tan, not extending above the elbow on the forelegs or above the stifle on the hind legs. Faults: In adult dogs, fawn or bronze hairs mingling with silver-blue color. Sooty or black hair intermingled with the tan. Disqualifications: Any change in coat color by artificial means. Albinism.

But If someone wants to share their joy of their baby even thou it dont meet the AKC standards then why does that hurt. I dont see no difference in choclates then I do Briewers, parti's these people that own these babys are just as proud of them as we are of ours, so why put them down for that. They have a right to post a thread on their babys as much as we do. and by posting that they dont agree with them what does that do? its not going to change their minds how they feel. so why post on their thread if its not to say something nice.why ruin their thread with saying I dont agree. it just makes the thread turn ugly.

By all means brag about your babies it's always nice to see a brag if the brag is being of a pet doing something great as obedience or agility but in the conformation ring when you know it's not an accepted color? You put yourself in that position when you post it. Really I'm not trying to argue but again, fact is fact ![]() Donna Bird Brooklynn's Yorkshire Terriers

I didn't think you was trying to argue, but some members do come on and do just that. I understand you wanted to keep the standard.and I'm not trying to argue either. I too love the standard. But if they let the choc show and the judge didn't have a problem with it then why is everyone questioning her about it? Theres other threads that are about other colors those are the threads to post your opinions on, Let her have her brag thread and let it be clear of others opinions on the colors thats all im trying to say. I just hate seeing every time a differentv color is brought up that the threads turn bad. cant we just say congrats.

Not saying the chocolate yorkie in the picture isn't pretty as a picture but again follow the rules it's not that hard. You expect your child to play by the rules why can't fellow yorkie breeders/exhibitors follow the rules/standard? It's not about competition it's about following the rules to being able to compete and that color in the conformation ring is "not" following the rules.
