| ![]() I do not breed or show Yorkies but find this topic very interesting. I am wondering, do you know why this judge decided to allow you to show her and does this set any kind of precedent going forward? I guess what I'm trying to ask is what exactly does this decision mean long term? Will this make it easier to show the chocolates in the future?

| ![]() She allowed her to show because there is nothing in the standards that says she cannot step foot in the ring. She recieved 2nd because the judge thought that the dog was deserving of first but couldnt give her first because of the color fault...yes it does set a precedent...she is working to set a standard with UKC for this coloring..

The thing about this that upsets me most is that I am assuming from reading the owners posts is that she will be breeding this dog now. This is wrong on so many levels, but most importantly for the future and to maintain the integrity of the yorkshire terrier breed. I am not putting your little dog down, I just cannot wrap my mind around what exactly you think needs to be reproduced. Enjoy your pet but leave breeding the yorkie to the people who will continue to strive to better the breed.

there are not too many breeders of chocolate yorkies...i do not breed them because i do not feel like i know all that i need to know about the chocolates to do so...mine are the "standard" color... she breeds what she loves and has researched the history extensively! this is to everyone who has the "chip" on their shoulder about this...try listening sometime instead of thinking yall are always right (this is not to eveyone, just to those few on here that have gotten nasty and hateful) the way some are acting is almost like they hate choc labs, choc poodles, choc anything....there are varieties of many breeds...the standards have just not been set for this VARIETY of yorkie yet!

| ![]() It is very good that you were here to defend yourself as one day a few months back a dozen or so YT ladies had fun time at my expence. I love all Yorkies but esp. the Chocolates. One of the girls in fact e-mailed me and then quoted what I had said on here but not quoting what she had wrote me. I was surfing and found the awful things that were being said about me and like I said I was not even here to defend my self. I have beautiful, healthy Yorkies and a refrence list all over the US. I am not able to show my dogs at this time as I have 3 human children that are all in numerous activities but my goal is to show all of my beautiful babies, even Chocolates if allowed, and I hope that they are allowed and I think that they will be. I just never knew people felt this way about them until I recieved my first hate e-mail and it was from someone on YT. (and she was bragging about it) After that several others chimed in and started in that I must be a byb and a puppy mill, I can assure all of them I am neither. Byb's and puppy mills don't invite people to thier homes to see thier dogs. Congrats!!!! ![]() ![]() I will try to get a recent pic. of my Chocolate if you would care to see her. Good luck and I hope people just learn to love everybody and be nice. Quote:

| ![]() Well I have seven...Since I stay at home it works out but if I weren't here I couldn't have that many. I do not know how people take care of big numbers and claim to be good breeders. I do ask good prices for mine but I have found that if I ask better prices I get it, and my dogs go to better homes. It takes a lot to take proper care of them. Besides that i think they are worth it and so have all of my new families. They always come back for another...... |

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | ![]() I posted this on another thread and thought i would post here as well please don't bash me............. Ok all this drama on these threads really needs to stop yes we all have a right to our own opinion but we also have the right to say them in a respectable and educational way with class and TACT.... with that being said i feel that this is what everyone is trying to get across... 1. Yorkies have a standard set by the YTCA and AKC the standard is to protect and improve the breed and show breeders strive to better the breed by keeping to the standard set 2. Other breeder would like the chocolate, parti and other colors recognized so they could show and breed freely MPO....... I don't think that chocolates should be able to be show as a yorkie if they are to be recognized it should be their own breed like the Biewer has done. Chocolates and other colors are not the standard for this breed. Yes they are beautiful yes they are wonderful pets and maybe show quality in their own set catagory. You can't compare a chocolate or anyother color against the standard of what a yorkie is supposed to be so why would you want to have them in the same catagory with them?? Why not set out to make their own place? I am not trying to start a war nor am i taking sides

I have my sincere doubts it was knowlegable judges that would have withheld a ribbon and then said it was indeed a great Yorkie. They may have said in structure in other points it was fine but the colour is a severe fault enough of one to withhold a ribbon. In the show world withholding a ribbon is considered to be a way of saying the dog should not be in the ring. SOrry but that is the way it is if you know the show world which I keep telling people if you are going to breed, be part of it and know your breed.
