I have respect for show breeders that have respect for me. I have no idea why you have a problem with us non show breeders wanting to develop the parti color. why is it an issue with you? What harm is it causing you or anyone else? It seems to me that you think only show breeders should breed. Just because we don't show our dogs to get a title on them does not mean they could not win the title if we chose to show them.

I have no desire to show and no desire to buy a dog from a champion line. I just want to help develop the parti color. Every breed had to start somewhere and I would imagine every breed had it's opposition.

Now as far as Champions....I guess they won't have any future AKC Champions in the Biewer or Parti lines until they are recognized by AKC since they can't be shown at AKC events.

To Be Honest... ME TOO! your putting them in new homes at pet prices but many Yorkie breeders give other breeders a potential 'breedable' pup at those prices... Why are the prices so high? aren't they basically a different color yorkie? so why not charge the same price?

I have never paid any attention because I don't read the for sale threads. Not every non show breeder is a Byb out to make a fast buck. Some of us have a real purpose. I have nothing against Lorraine, I have no idea what she has against me except that she thinks I am doing a horrible thing by breeding non traditional colored yorkies.

I have nothing against show breeders, I love watching dog shows, I just don't care to participate at this point in time. Now if the time comes when we can develop the parti coloreds by showing them, then I might decide to show.

To tell you the truth I have no idea why the Parti breeder prices their pups extremely higher than a Standard Colored Yorkie. I know no Parti or Biewer breeder on a personal basis. And if I did, I don't think I'd ask them why, it is their business.

Lorraine like myself are passionate about the Yorkshire Terrier Breed as it stands today. It took years and years of blood, sweat and tears of those breeders that came before us....and as she stated....she was speaking in general of bybers, don't take it personal. But, we tend to get a little nuts when it pretains to what we love so much and work so hard to preserve.

I hope that some day your Parti will be a breed onto itself....but, seperate from the Yorkshire Terrier of today.

Yes, the prices are from $300 to $3000 and the upward spectrum for those tinies what does that tell you about the breeders. My pet puppies don't go for anywhere near $3000.

No my litter was from Ollie, she is a traditional. My partis have not been bred yet.

That is why threads like this one shouldn't be taken on a personal level. It should be used as educational. Yes, it can get heated, but we should stay with the facts, so that we can educate.

It certainly didn't sound that you were not against show breeders. We rather sounded like a sorry lot in your eyes. I am not against you as long as people realize that are buying wrong colours that they are wrong colours for the breed and certainly should not be sold as something 'rare'. As for breeding non traditional colour, why would you? Isnt the purebred breeding done to produce a lovely representative of the purebred breed including colour regardless of the breed anyone is talking about. Doyou think the Yorkie is the first one challenged with colour and people selling rare aka wrong colour.
I know dog fancier pom breeders taht wish they had seen what was coming that now all colours are accepted.
The Chihuahua club of Canda is hoping to close the door to merle Chi's. The Pug Club of Canada is scrambling to close to the door to 'rare' brindle pugs.
Why? Because it is not a correct colour and long time fanciers have insisted that these colours never existed in the breed they are the result of crossing.
I know of someone trying to miniaturize Shar Peis. I found an ad where this person was looking for a sharpei pug cross that looked like a small sharpei. To do what was that with?
About 30 years ago a breeder was trying to introduce black and white German short haired pointers which is a wrong colour and can occur in a breeding but not desirable. The GSP breeders certainly put a stop to that quick enough.
there are enough breeds around that come in all colours, if that is what strikes your eye, go for it. Why damage a nice purebred breed like the elegant Yorkie? Or go to crossbreeds, you can breed anything you want if you do that nobody will care.
