We got stopped by the cops!

I agree with Judyeve, If there are no signs posted that say dogs must be containd in containers, I would fight the ticket, you had no way of knowing as you have done it in the past with no problems.

There is soooooooo much crime in NY that you would think the cops would be busy doing something a little more important than giving tickets to two people who have tiny puppies on their leash, in their arms. It's sad when they could be chasing a criminal or something a little more important than tickiting two darling little girls.

I guess you can be grateful it was not more, and did not give you a criminal record!!!! Ha Ha, I am afriad I would be laughing also!

Thank you everyone! We feel so much better, knowing that everyone understands us, my bf is still mad lol. I'm still kinda ticked off cause these ladies, i KNOW they just did it for money. There weren't that many ppl around, or in the train and my dogs are the smallest dogs ever. I could understand if they were big dogs, etc. I'm just going to pay it, even tho i could use that money with something else but i'd rather not go to court and wait hours, and i've never even been there before. I told my mom and she thinks it is so stupid. There are also NO SIGNS at the subway saying dogs have to be contained. When one of the women said that it's cause dogs can bite ppl i said no my dog's never bite, i know for a fact! She said "They have teeth, they can bite", I felt like saying"you have teeth, do you bite?"

It was stupid of them just to ticket you, they should have given you a warning, especially when they did not present a danger to anyone.

Seriously! And I have seen one of these women cops before around my way, she stopped me on the street to see my dogs cause she wants one and said she's about to go to Peru or Honduras to get one cause they're so expensive here. She's obviously ignorant

That's just ridiculous! Tell me about it! I have taken Teddy and the girls on the train several times, there have been cops there, some cops even wanted to pet them but no one has ever said anything to me about that rule. I see people all the time with dogs on the train.

This is a strange city for sure! I was a teacher here. Actually Bloomberg was good to all of us (teachers, cops and firemen) when he wanted our votes. Then, he closed fire stations because of $$ and a lot of firemen lost their jobs, and neighborhoods lost their fire stations. He is an odd, odd man, but....
better than Guiliani for sure!
