Donating YT 500 Club Member | ![]() I honestly wish you luck in whatever you decide. But just think about it. I guess more than anything I'm just glad that I didn't have the same expectations as you. Size wasn't even on my mind when I first saw Ozzie. At 11 weeks, he already weighed 3.3 pounds. He was a typical, all-over-the-place puppy that I just KNEW was going to squirm out of my arms the second I held him. But he didn't. He nestled quietly in the crook of my arm, moving only to nuzzle his head farther up my shoulder. And when I asked him if he was "lovey," he kissed me. Melted my heart on the spot. I expected that he would be smart, somewhat aloof, and probably 7 pounds like my first Yorkie. Of all those things, I really wanted him to be smart. As it turns out, he is NONE of those things. He is not the brightest bulb in the pack. Like you, I had my moments of disappointment over that. But, he definitely has his moments that more than make up for it? Aloof? NO WAY! This is my personal shadow. And 7 pounds? Try 7 pounds TIMES TWO. You have a right to feel however you want. But I can tell you that you may be robbing yourself of a really great experience. I know I sure would have been had I let Ozzie's Forrest Gump IQ sway me. The thing is, much like Forrest, Ozzie is so innocent and sweet and loving and loyal. It's 10 years later, and I wouldn't have him any other way. ![]() |

I've heard of people having tiny puppies that just weighed ounces at around 11-12 weeks and turned out the be 6-8 lbs when grown. But has anyone here had a puppy who was almost 2 lbs by 11 weeks that turned out the be less than 5 lbs when grown?

Aww, I love your boy. He is just gorgeous. I heard that harlequins are really rambunctious. Is that true? Yes, Kevin was beautiful. I miss him a lot.

i've kinda been where you are...only a little different. when i got my cocker (yes, i already owned a cocker when i found this pup) i really had never liked cockers. in fact, swore i would never own one. i was looking for a yorkie (this was 6 years ago) well, i couldn't find a yorkie (as mentioned in my past post) but i found this sweet black cocker that i refused to like. well, she had something else in mind. i ended up getting her INSTEAD of a yorkie..because i fell for her. and she has been the single most amazing dog ever!!! she is so incredibly sweet...VERY well behaved, loving, gentle, smart, BEAUTIFUL, and sooooo much more. i had many times thought that i should let my ex have her so i could get the yorkie of my dreams. but i couldn't part with her. she was my heart. so i stuck with her...we stuck side by side for 6 years...and then one day...I got the yorkie of my dreams. it was sooooooo worth the wait too!! i learned so much by raising my cocker..that i was able to train my yorkie to be a great dog, listen well, and have had little to NO problems with house breaking. and it also gave me my first experience with a small dog (i always had danes and german shephards). so Daisy kinda "broke me in" and when i got maggie, i was ready. really really ready ![]() not saying you are not ready...just saying that what you think you might not want right now, might very well be exactly what you need. and this pup could give you more love than you could ever fathom. i know daisy did. she gave me strength through soooo many hard times.
