I don't think I'm quick to judge at all. I've read all your comments and it sounds to me like you are worrying over a pound or two when you don't even know what he'll weigh. I've had my puppy for a month and have no real idea how much she'll weigh and don't really care...I'm sure I'll still be able to lift her! And you yourself said you aren't allowing yourself to bond with him. I stand by what I said originally.

Are you sure about this? How many yorkies have you seen? 3-4 lbs is very very small for an adult Yorkie and not very common. I would say that the majority of Yorkies are in the 6-7 lb range and that very few adult Yorkies are in the 3-4 lb range.

If you truly want a Yorkie that small, then it is going to be very hard to get one from a reputable breeder. A good breeder does not try to have puppies this small. They may occasionally have one but its a rarity. Puppy mills on the other hand strive for the smallest dog possible no matter the outcome.

Not everyone is the same person, so if you are going to judge me because I don't feel exactly the same way as you do, then I stand by what I said originally as well.

I can understand how you would be mad at the breeder, since he said the pup would not get over 4 pounds. In reality, you just can't make those guarantees. Well, there is one in my building named Peanut and he is about 2.5 lbs. At least that's what the owner says. He's the one I see the most. Then there are 2 others owned by another woman and one is 3 lbs and the other is almost 4 (so I've been told). There is also a a girl who owns a Yorkie and a Maltese in my building as well. Her Yorkie, Precious is 3 lbs and her Maltese, Maddy is 3.5 lbs. Then there was a Yorkie I saw at the mall the other day and the owners were really nice and friendly. My boyfriend and I chatted with them for a while and told them we were looking for a Yorkie. They let us play with theirs and hold her for a while. She was almost 4 lbs.

All of these dogs I mentioned are more than 2 years of age. I've also seen them at random outings before and they all looked about the same as the ones I have mentioned previously. So I have never seen a Yorkie 6-7 lbs or more before.

I have had a hard time finding a small one for the same reason you mentioned. Reputable breeders don't seem to have them often and when they do, they want a lot of money for them. Even more if it's a girl. At least that's my experience. Which is exactly why I fell into the trap I did.

I bought him this new food yesterday because he was on Eukanuba and I read that it's not the greatest. So I got a bag of Innova brand puppy food. It was a 6.6 lbs bag and as I was carrying the food I realized that if my dog got as heavy as that, it would just be too difficult for me to carry him around. unfortunately I have a pretty busy lifestyle which would require me to carry him around quite a bit. So that could be a problem. My arms and shoulders are kind of not the healthiest or strongest.

Punkie, come on. There isn't that big of a difference between 3 and 6 pounds. Have you ever weighed your purse? You might be surprised to find out just how much weight you carry around there.

I think the bottom line is what you keep repeating: you resent not getting what you were told you were getting. In that case, this is a matter of pride, right? I don't mean to come across so harshly, especially since I just joined, but let's be honest.
