| ![]() Sorry to hear about Tucker. Milo is almost 4 months old now. He weighs close to 2.5 lbs I think. I'm not really sure though. The last time I weighed him was almost a month ago and he weighed 2.2 lbs then and hasn't grown much since. When he weighed 1.8 lbs, he was 1 pound and 13 ounces. So it was pretty close to 2 lbs. Which was still pretty tiny. I think that most vets don't know what they're talking about when it comes to toy breeds. I think they calculate weight based on their experience with bigger dogs, because according to my vet, Milo should be much bigger now. I'm estimating him to be around 4.5 - 5 lbs at most when he is fully grown. Even that is still pretty small. When I look at him now, I don't know what I would do if he always stayed this small, LOL. I used to want a tiny dog, but now I think I would prefer him to be around 5 to 6 lbs. I'm always so afraid of stepping on him and worried that he might fall off of the couch and hurt himself. I've attached some older pictures of him. The newer ones are on my boyfriend's computer. Do you have any pictures of your little ones?

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | ![]() Bottom line for me, is if you see all the red flags: house stinks, can't go inside, don't get to see the parents, turn around and walk away. I know many folks have puppy mill bred puppies, and love them--and I have one as well. But every time one of us buys from one of these puppy mills, we keep these mills going. I'm glad for you that you and the puppy are happy; it has a happy ending. Last edited by scrapindee; 09-15-2007 at 09:16 PM. |

Unfortunately I never really thought about it throughly until after the fact. At the very least, my Milo has a good home now. I just wish there was some way to stop this guy. Like I said a while ago, he breeds about 4-5 different breeds of dogs and his partner breeds about 6-7 different ones. He told me he has 16 litters of Yorkies alone in a year. That is a puppy mill of enormous proportions. ![]()

| ![]() I'm so glad it all worked out for you! I can't get over that little face- so sweet! Don't beat yourself up over using poor judgement- hindsight is 20/20 as we all know. Many of us here have gotten yorkies from breeders that we would never do business with now. My first yorkie came from a terrible BYB and I still wonder what I was thinking. I'm very lucky that she is healthy. We all learn as we go.

| ![]() hi my vet that i took the puppy to said that she was a half breed. She said that the puppy would grow to be around 15 pound. The vet thought that it was a cross between a maltese and yorkie. WHen i bought the puppy the breeder told me that it was a pure breed of Yorkshire terrier. he even made the bill of sale YORKSHIRE TERRIOR. But anyways i would of never of returned her back to the breeder if i knew that it was a puppy mill. I had no idea, i thought that the best place for her to go was the breeder, because he said that he had a waiting list for these dogs and she would definitely have a good home in no time. Well now i have to sue this supposed breeder for $1500. He is a liar and a scam artist and im going to try my best to get him completely put out of business. He is operating illegally and im positive now that these poor innocent animals are not in humane living conditions. I have to do everything i can to get these animals safe. My boyfriends Dad is a lawyer so my fees are free but i hope to take this Phil Gaidy down, hopefully his lawyer fees alone will put him under. Well hope that answers your question. Have a nice morning kim |

| ![]() Punkie, He's a keeper! What a face! He's just precious! My Max was supposed to weigh 4lbs (pet shop/puppy mill dog), and he now weighs 9 lbs. I like that he's big. I don't have to worry like I would if he was a tiny. Not that tinies aren't precious, I just don't want to worry. My new baby is about 3 lb. at 14 weeks. Her breeder said to expect no less than 5 lbs and as big as 7, no guarantees of course. Whatever, as long as they're healthy, right?

| ![]() Wow....just read through this entire thread. It helped me kill the last hour of my work day. Obviously, a slow day at the office so was glad to have YT to help pass the time. I've been too busy for a while to look and post. Any way, I'm glad you kept Milo. Love that name!! ![]() |

| ![]() I'm disappointed to here that you are considering giving up your puppy because of size. I was like you, I wanted a small puppy too. I looked and looked at so many dogs and none of them were right. Then I came across, JayDee. He was the last of the litter because he was so big, the breeder called him "Big Mac", but I fell in love with him anyways. He weighs a whopping 12 lbs (not overweight at all) at 2 y.o., but he is the most amazing dog I have ever met! I often think that other people may have gotten his 5-7 lb brothers and sisters, but luckily for me, they missed out on the opportunity to have one of the best dogs in the whole world. Something had to draw you to this dog in the first place other then his size? He's probably worth you loving him anyways. |
