Bottom line for me, is if you see all the red flags: house stinks, can't go inside, don't get to see the parents, turn around and walk away. I know many folks have puppy mill bred puppies, and love them--and I have one as well. But every time one of us buys from one of these puppy mills, we keep these mills going.

I'm glad for you that you and the puppy are happy; it has a happy ending.
