Senior Yorkie Talker | Distance and hydration Thanks - will find a bottle - considering winter's coming and she'll be 16 weeks in November we won't be having long walks for a while - but it's useful to get an idea of distances and water needs. On the other hand, I wonder if I can get this in Yorkie size once she's more grown up and the days get warmer? CamelBak | MARATHONER VEST 2L Hands-Free Hydration System for Runners |

There's a lot more equipment for a dog than for a cat - we're realizing... I still want the Camelbak! :-) | |

| When its not too hot or cold, Jaeger and I will walk up to 3 miles. I always bring water, and he only ever 'has had enough' is if it's a bit warm, or if the grass is really tall. He doesnt 'lay down' like some dogs do, but I keep an eye on him, and if his breathing changes or he starts to pant a little, I ask if he wants picked up-he'll come over and stare at me if he wants to be carried for a bit, and he'll get wiggly when he wants back down.

| I take my 8 lb. er for a mile walk every day, unless it's raining or bad weather. She is in full trot all the way. She acts like she could go more but that's all I want! She is a real trooper and we don't stop for water or anything. |

| Pao can walk forever and ever....we usually walk for an hour because I get very tired after an hour but we once got lost in the woods and couldn't find our way out and Pao walked for 6 hours before I carry him for the last hour because it got dark and I was afraid of wild animals getting to him. I literally couldn't even see my fingers stretched out in front of me. It was very scary and 10lbs gets very heavy when you carry them for an hour when you are already tired and scared and thirsty because I gave all my water to Pao. It was about 2 years ago when he was 6 years old but I am sure he can walk forever if I let him but I can only last for an hour.
