				   | anyone out in TX who wants a free dog and is willing and able to put up the money for initial medical expenses?? Man I wish I could come and take one! I live WAY too far away! This is a very sad story! Im glad she has decided to give them all up bc she CLEARLY cannot handle the responsibility that comes with them! Its hard to see that kind of side of your best friend! Are you willing to pick up the little guys and hold them for a few days to see if anyone on here would like to 'adopt' them? GOOD LUCK! You are a wonderful person for what you did for those babies while you were there! At least now you know they got bathed, brushed and fed recently!

If she get defensive and mean while you are being nice, then tell her that she is leaving you no choice but to call a rescue to come pick them up and that you love her but you will not tolerate the abuse to these poor animals. Good Luck!!

Well, I spoke with her and we got in a verbal argument. She thinks I'm being too sensitive on these animals and said they don't need that much attention. The only attention she give them is to tell them to shut up when they bark, cry, wine. When asked what she was going to do after I leave without them, she replied 'what else should I do? I'm doing everything I can for them as it is' I threatened to call the police and she starts to cry. (I'm a very sensitive and soft-hearted person) I started crying too because she was crying and I felt bad that I was the reason she was crying. After convincing her that she could go to jail and the result of that could be locked up in jail for animal abuse, she agreed that I could take care of the dogs for her. I know that I am in no shape to take care of those dogs. My Godmother, who has a disability and can't work always wanted pets to keep her company throughout the day. I asked if she was willing to take care of them, of course all the expenses would be out of my pocket (actually, my husband's) and she agreed to keep 2 of the 3. So one of the three, which is the maltese is still at her place. I know what you guys will think. Why not take all? I don't deal with stress very well and I'm trying the best that I can, at least I think I am. I will try and talk her into giving the other one up to a rescue. I just hope you guys don't judge me because there is so much that I can do and so much that I can't do. The thing that is most important to me is what I can do rather than what I can't do because that is something I can't control. | |

				   | I need an update asap!!! I want to get the word out at my husband's job. I know we can find homes for these babies quickly!!!! My heart is breaking just thinking about these babies!!! I just want to cry when I think how close I must be to them right now and I can't get to them because I don't know where they are. They need an advacate to speak for them! Let's get them out of there! We have too many YT'ers here in the Houston area that would do anything to get them to a safe place and a responsible loving home. I have two dtrs in college, so I know what you're going through. Please let us help you! I know this is breaking your heart too.

I'm sorry, but are you freakin' kidding me? CALL someone. You don't have to take them to the vet whoever you call will.

				   | Someone stated that how could I focus on my studying at a time like this. Well, I'm at the peak of my college years. Attending pharmacy school w/a 4-year old is not such an easy thing and I know it might sound bad but I can't let this opportunity go by because of what she (the so-called friend) did. I really care about them (the dogs) and I really have to focus on my studying and along with studying I will try and help them in any kind of way. It's just a matter of time that we're talking about. I just don't want anyone to judge me and think that all I care about are my studies. Last edited by xBUTTERCUPx; 06-06-2007 at 09:31 AM. |

				   | My girlfriend had a boyfriend that had custody of his little girl. She told me he was abusing his daughter of 4 & didn't know what to do. I took it upon myself & called the police & reported it. They even brought up charges on my friend for not reporting it. OH WELL, were not friends any more. This was wrong & so is what your friend is doing. I wouldn't have a problem turning in my sister if she was abusing her kids or dog. WRONG is WRONG. It wouldn't be the 1st time I've reported on people that abuse.

				   | I'm confused...you picked up the Yorkie & the Papillon, but not the Maltese? I'm really not trying to attack you personally...I'm a full-time university student and know the stress of school, but come on! If you were there to pick up the other two why didn't you pick up the Maltese and take it to a rescue!? I'm just so outraged by this story. All I can say is that I wish I had the money to travel to Houston right now.

				   | Please make arrangements for the Maltese to get rescued, too. That poor baby. Sometime life comes at you hard, you'll be glad you did the right thing when it's over and hopefully, a happy ending -- minus one "best friend" in your circle. |
