| Dilemma :( So, I've heard through the grapevine that my neighbor knows that I have 4 dogs and the town limit is 3. I was planning on getting a specialty license so that I would be totally fine with the law.. but figured it would not be a big deal. All of my neighbors have or have had dogs and all love my bunch. They are favorites of the people in the neighborhood and everyone smiles at them and is just adoring of "the girl w/the puppies". I'm not sure if this neighbor will say anything, but her daughter lives w/her and her ex husband is a cop.. so I'm just very stressed out about this. All of my 3 dogs are registered and up to date on shots... Kenzie isn't registered yet because she still needs her rabies, but I was planning on registering her to my father's address.. which he said is fine. What should I do? I absolutely REFUSE to give up my dog if she calls the city about it, I would rather live in my car, move, whatever. It's not like I have 15 dogs. I have 4 under 10 lbs, they are never ever unattended.. clean, for the most part quiet.. I'm just sick to my stomach about this. Help? |

| I would not worry about it too much unless they contact you about it and say it's a problem. Then, you are using your dad's address for one of them anyway. Are they unfriendly? Just because he is a police officer doesn't mean he will get after you. I would just make sure that they don't bark excessively. |

| If someone shows up, tell them you are puppy sitting for your sister or someone. Dont let all 4 outside at a time. |

| That's what my dad said to do too. I was so dumb, I bought two tie outs so that I could bring all the dogs out at once until I get my fence up w/in the month. I really didn't think anyone would care about a 1.5 lb dog |

| You register one to Dad's address and if anyone asks, you are babysitting your Dad's dog! Don't stress. I have 4 cats and a dog and no one around here is any the wiser. I think our ordinance says 3 also. I only have one cat and the dog licensed. The cats are all indoor cats. I also only take 3 of them to the same vet. The other two go to a different vet, so even my vet doesn't know!

| The city ordinance here is 3 dogs. We had 4 when we moved here. I called Animal Control before the move and was told that we had to "get rid" of one of them.....We moved in, I walked into Animal Control with my registrations from our previous county and their rabies certs and stood right there and licensed 4 dogs to my address. They never said a word about the ordinance or a dog limit. More than happy to take my money.

I really hate dog limits. People that want to hoard will do it no matter what, but people like myself who have 1 small dog over the limit have to worry constantly about it. My dogs are my kids and are treated w/the best medical care, food, kept well groomed and are for the most part very well mannered. It just makes me so sad | |
