| Our day went bad!! I am not happy, Haruka is :( I dressed her up to go to a yorkie meet-up this afternoon. She is so cute and adorable with her new dress and bow. She was ready to look pretty and play!! We were the first one at yorkie meet up... As people started coming in, Haruka got really excited. She did her usual things.. saying hi to all the yorkies, then jump on every humans' laps. She is very friendly to everyone!! She had a good time for sometime. Then there was a new yorkie with a couple.... So Haruka wanted to say hi to the dog and sat with a lady's lap. Boon!!!! Yes.. Haruka got bit by this vicious yorkie. I don't think she got hurt badly but she jumped over other lady's shoulder. She jumped really really high. I grabbed Haruka and comforted her. She just kept hiding behind me.. or sat on my lap and couldn't even play with other nice dog. Maybe I was really upset that I couldn't hear anyone apologizing to me or Haruka. I look mean as possible to the owner, but they didn't seem to care. Maybe they don't know how friendly Haruka is... and what damage their dog did to Haruka for her birthday celebration meet-up. So a guy left the room with a dog for 5 minutes.. and came back on. The dog kept being vicious so the owner didn't let the dog play. I was very unhappy... I know sometimes dogs can be aggressive... but because of my Haruka being hurt.. and I think she has PTSD now.. My god!!! So we came home... and decided to take a relaxing time ... so it was very bad meet-up

No Longer a Member | The least that couple should have done was apologize. That is outrageous! Poor thing. Don't worry, I'm sure she'll get over it though. I went to our local dog park about a week ago, and there was a girl there with a mini schnauzer and a toy poodle. Now we all know that those dogs look huge next to our yorkies. Well, that poodle wanted to play rough. She kept running and running over Chloe. So when I started to pick Chloe up, the girl was all, "you can go over to the other side" meaning the big dog side where no dogs were at the moment. $%^^& she could have taken her rowdy dogs to the big dog side! Bad owners... |

| Aww Im so sorry you guys did not have a good time. Poor Haruka.....I love that little baby! Im always afraid to have my babies around others because Bella is just soooooooooo friendly and it might be taken the wrong way and Louie is just so laid back that Im afraid he may be intimidated.

| Poor Haruka! I am so sorry to hear about that happening! I can't believe there are such irresponsible pet owners around and to bring a dog like that to a meet up That's one of my fears with bringing Jaden or Jewelina to meet ups where there are dogs that I do not know, you just never know what their temperment is going to be like. I am glad nothing worse happened to poor little Haruka! Give that sweety lots of kisses for me!! Feel better soon! *Hugs* |

| I was wondering about this kind of thing with meetups. Rocky, Darcy and I are planning to go to our first one next weekend. Darcy is 1yr. and is calm at barely 3 lb., I'm not sure if she can stand on her own. Rocky is 8 mths. on the upper end of 3lb. and is tough stuff. When they play together, they growl at each other - its just part of the game and doesn't go any farther. I'm afraid that the growl may be interpreted as agressive by the other pups at the meetup and it may cause problems. From what I'm hearing on this thread, it seems like agression is acceptable - but not to me! Does it sound like I should go or opt out of my meetup?

| 2cute4me: I would definately go to the meetup!! I have two teapot girls and one of them also growls. Shes just playing but does sound aggresive. I dont think that the other dogs will be bothered with her growling, if they are it will only be for a short time. Yours is only 3 lbs and thats small, so I wont worry about it. Go to your meetup and have a GREAT TIME! |

| I will definitely go back to the meet-up... I was just so upset about today... I will see how it goes next month. I will be talking to the organizer about the safety of our dogs and manners of the owners. I hope that Haruka can be a role model to other dogs... Next time.. (I hope it doesn't happen...but if she gets attacked) I will be "Cesar Millan" and teach agreesive dogs to be submissive. I am a very nice person.... but if I get upset... oh you cannot imagine.. (Patti knows.. how nasty I can get...) so.. I decided to be quiet today.... I just felt bad that her birthday celebration got ruined today.. but I got her some healthy treats at dog bakery... then got her a new harness... I got one new dress from YT member... I will be doing more shopping... My friend sent me a gift so we are waiting in mail.. some good stuff is coming up So I am trying to thin positive..

| I'm sorry that you had this bad experience. Just to be on the safe side, one should use the same caution with their dogs as they do with their children. You wouldn't allow your child to walk up to a strange dog without making sure the dog doesn't bite. You shlould probably use the same caution with your fur baby. However, that does not excuse the other peoples rude behavior and not showing concern as to whether or not your dog was hurt. They're lucky it wasn't a child or their dog would be in trouble. |

| I'm so sorry your big day ended in such disappointment! Is Haruka ok? I hate it that it only takes one bad owner to ruin a happy day! Did anyone else there comment on the situation? I would hope someone there said something to these people about their behavior. Obviously the dog acts like the owners.
