I would definately go to the meetup!! I have two teapot girls and one of them also growls. Shes just playing but does sound aggresive. I dont think that the other dogs will be bothered with her growling, if they are it will only be for a short time. Yours is only 3 lbs and thats small, so I wont worry about it.
