| PetsMart's Groomers Opinions? I got Peeka Boo's nails cut there, but I really didnt mind as long as he wasn't hurt and those long PAINFUL nails were GONE. I had soooo many scratches. But I dont know about the groomers, I didnt get a good vibe about doing much more there. The dogs looked kind of freaked out and the groomers didnt seem too connected to them. |

| I've gotten Mr. Biggs groomed there since he was a pup. They do a good job with him. I always try and hae the same person groom him, just so they're familiar with him. But my mom had sent me an e-mail about how a bunch of dogs had died at petsmat because supposably not all of their groomers are certified. The whole new story really kind of freaked me out, so I've been looking into other places, but even then, some of the other place I've looked into look so much worse than petsmart, or the people who work there just look so dirty. I dunno... JMO. I'm sticking with petsmart until I can find something better in my area. They have windows in their whole grooming section, so they can't be doing somehting too horrible to the animals, or no one would go there, right?

| I think it probably varies depending on location, theres different groomers at every petsmart. I take Rocky their to get his nails done, but I hold him while they do it and I'm there the whole time. I wouldn't want to leave him there to get groomed though because I see how some of these groomers are to the dogs, yelling at them and not being as gentle as I would want them to be on my baby. Theres a new petsmart opening up by me, so maybe their groomers will be different.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I took Cali and Pixie to get their nails cut at Petsmart today and held them while the girl cut them. I had no problem, but the girls where grooming 4 different dogs and one girl was explaining to another girl how to groom the dog she was grooming. She wasn't even watching her. They each had a dog they were grooming and the one dog was crying. From what I have observed they don't pay much attention to the dog and I have seen them slipping of the tables, etc.

| I agree that it depends on the location. I did not have a good experience at one of the locations in Michigan, but the other one was fine. Im still not sure about them. I love to shop there but I'll pass on the grooming. Now I take him to an independent groomer and they did a great job. Izzy was happy and didnt seem too freaked out.

I agree we went to three petsmart/petco groomer locations to talk to the groomers they had on staff. We were about to give up when we came across a sweet lady who used to show yorkies, she gave us all kind of advice on the breed in general and was very very interactive with Addie. I'd say whomever you go to, ask a ton of questions first and maybe even ask if you can watch, stay there for the first couple groomings

| I take Toby to the Petsmart in Jacksonville for his nail clips/grooming and they do a good job on him. I like the fact that there is a huge window so you can stand outside and watch what goes on as all the dogs are being groomed.

| Not bad Ive taken Remy once to the Petco, which was his first grooming. I took him there to get his nails trimmed first and saw the guy did a fantastic job, with great care, so I took a chance and had him groomed there few months later. They couldnt fully groom him because he was still a baby and scared, but they did manage to cut the hair around his face, bathe, and even put a bow on his head. i didnt care for the bow, seeing he is a boy , but i think they did a pretty good job. I think it just depends on which store you go to. Take a look at the employees, you can usually tell if they're experienced. But i've too heard that the independent groomers are among the best, however, it only cost me $25 to groom (w/bathe & nail trim) my baby at Petco. Good luck! |

| Every Petsmart is different... they are all certified in order to do anything more than give the dog a bath, but that doesnt mean theyre all that good. i work at petsmart as a dog trainer, and truthfully i wouldnt trust them enough to take my yorkie to get groomed.. knowing what goes on when the parents leave makes me not trust them. some can actually be really good though, its more of how much the people actually like their jobs... the ones that do spend the extra time to treat your dog right arent very common just because they get payed on how many dogs they groom. |

Mom to Marty & Maddie Donating Member | My husband and I are in an ongoing battle with Petsmart on behalf of my mom. The groomer kept Chipper, her maltese, for eight hours...and when they finally called her to pick him up, he was in TONS of pain for no apparent reason. He was perfect before she took him! We ended up taking him to an emergency vet that night. The vet wasn't very helpful because he wouldn't say that anything in particular was wrong even though he was in obvious pain. He gave him pain medication and antibiotics (though I have no idea why he needed antibiotics). Petsmart apologized, but that's about the extent of their actions. We are trying to get them to pay for my mother's emergency vet fees since it was a direct result of something their groomer did. Basically, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Even if all stores are different, I'd be too scared to take my dog to any of them, just in case. Just my opinion. |

| I agree that each one is different. I have had my Cody groomed at my Petsmart for 3 years. Never any trouble. All the people are older and have been there a while. Always the same people at my Petsmart. We do have a new Petco near us that I have been thinking about just because it is about 10 miles closer to me than the Petsmart. But I don't know if I will try it yet.
