| Okay I know this sounds stupid but is peroxide the one that comes in the white bottle and will it burn her? Sorry I am not a mommy so I am not an expert on all this medical stuff - althought I should know this I am sure.

| It may be dog lice. They are white and you can see the adults in a bad infestation. The larvae burrow into the skin and you should be able to see them and feel them. They do make sores that look almost like hot spots. They tend to burrow on the head area and between the eyes. Vet should be able to determine what it is. |

| How long have they been there? Maybe when she went to potty there were branches on the ground that scraped her. Edit - I took Rosie for a spot on her back that was there since before Christmas. The vet ruled out mange because it was only in one spot. If it was mange then it would be in several spots all over the body. If it doesn't heal in a few days then I would take her in. | Mange is usually not bloody at first or in small spots, Usually it starts out as just hair thinning then total hair loss that creeps . I have never seen mange in small bloody spots. She looks like she could have had an allergic reaction to something. Does she scratch at it alot? Is it itchy. Mange is SUPER itchy, every time you look at the dog they seem to be scratching. It typically starts either at the lower legs ususally jsut a thinning of the hair at first, as well as around the eyes, ears. Bonnie |

| Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i don't think its mange either. They look they scrapes or puncture wounds. mange doesn't look like that inthe begining stages. Just keep the area clean. Wash the spots with soap and warm water. if teh scabs are really crusty try and get some of them off with the warm water soak. after you clean the area thoroughly pat it dry. Next put the peroxide on a cotton ball and let it soak into the wound. Let it dry. Once its dry you can put neosporin on it. Keep hair out of it if it looks like its irritating teh wound more. you maybe have to clip the area, but you shouldn't have to since yorkie hair is so thin. keep us posted

| OKay I am treating them with the peroxide and neosporin like you all said. She really does not like the peroxide and does not like me touching it at all. She is not itching it at all unless of course i start messing with it. So maybe it is not mange after all. I am still going to get the Vets opionion but he can not see me till tomorrow morning at 8:00am. Hopefully I will know more than. Thanks all for helping me.

| My little shih tzu has seborrhea and it looks exactly like the scabby picture. Is the scab on the oily side? If you take it off it will look like the other spots. Cassie has to have special shampoo for the condition and if she has a breakout it does itch. The main places she gets them are on the top of her head and around her neck. Let us know what the doctor says. Good Luck |

| Has you noticed her messing with the spots? Chance has a spot and I took him because I thought it was ring worm. It was on his thigh area. The vet said that is the exact place where she gave him his rabies shot. So he still has no hair in this area but it is not red and inflamed.

| I hope it isn't ringworm. I had a mobil groomer come to my house ONCE. Three days after he left, I noticed one of my dogs having the same kind of scab. I thought they had been playing and someone got a little rough. Didn't think much of it, but did use peroxide and neosporin. Then another one got it, then another!!! Off to the vets we went. Sure enough, ringworm!! The vet told me that the peroxide was fine, but the neosporin would only HELP the ringworm spread!! By then, almost all of them had it. Not fun. Had to give a lot of baths and do ointment for 2 weeks straight!! Good luck. Please let us know what it was!! Suz
