| Even though I own dogs, I have allergies so I can understand why that is reasoning for some stores to not allow pets. BUT in a huge area, the chance of an allergic reaction to someone who does not pet the dog is soooo ridiculously minimal. I also think not allowing dogs in carriers is so silly especially in parks and outdoor areas. I didn't own dogs when I lived in Boston but I worked at a huge mall Copley Place and the rule was that dogs were allowed as long as they were held/carrier/stroller.. ect. Even huge luxury stores like Saks Fifth Avenue allow dogs! I have a question, if it isn't posted that pets are not allowed and I was to bring my pup in, in a carrier do you think it would be an issue? I've wanted to try so many times because it's so inconvenient to leave them at home while I'm out running errands. |

| As a matter of fact today my husband and I went to Costco the warehouse food store withour baby Chloe 2.6 lbs in her carrier and they did not let me in either. It was not like her head was out or anything she was napping in her carrier. They made a big deal about it. Yet Publix the local food store has never had a problem. I was very surprised! |

| We weren't allowed to bring Toto, in her bag, to an old car show in the park, on the grass in Grand Junction!! We even offered to buy Toto a ticket, assured them that she was never allowed on ground that we weren't familiar with and the witch at the gate smiled and still said no!! I smiled back and simply said "You have got to be kidding"!! So, yes, please do send the letter for all of us who feel the way you do!

| Well, I'm one of those that it really doesn't bother if I see dogs at an event but there are rules and regulations that the store owner or event coordinator has every right to set and we have to obey them. I actually saw a college girl grocery shopping at a very busy HEB on Friday with a HUGE standard poodle on a leash!! I've seen standard poodles before but I think it was something about the type of store we were in and the crowd of people that seemed to make it a little "unreal". I swear it was like seeing a small horse walking around a grocery store! The dog didn't have a service vest on or anything and I have no idea why she had to have the dog in the store but I did think that was a little weird. Now that I think about it, that's not the first time I've seen a very large dog in that HEB but the other time was a service dog - had his vest on to prove it. For the record, I don't take Tatum into any stores (except for the couple of times we've gone to Petco) but that's mostly because I run all my errands in the town I work in before heading home to "my town".

| This happened to us just a couple weeks ago. We went to the stock show here, which is indoors, and a lady told me I couldn't have Lola in there. Keep in mind this is a show where they have hundreds of cows and horses indoors, but my yorkie in her carrier wasn't acceptable. She told me to leave her in the car. The wind chills here that day were about -14 degrees...and she wanted me to leave my 4.5 yorkie OUTSIDE in the CAR. I was a little angry. What bothered me the most about it was that we had walked by 10 different employees that day and none of them said a word about her, but this broad wouldn't let us stay. So we left. I can respect rules in public establishments, and I don't take my dogs into restaurants or grocery stores, but a stock show??? Come on already. I also considered writing to someone about it, but haven't yet. |

There are so many Health Ordinances for any of these Large Chain Stores that carry Food. They don't have a lot of control over it. They could lose their License... Personally....I don't care WHERE dogs go....you can sit one under the chair of the table next to me in a restaurant....fine with me! The Europeans are much more laid back about that sort of thing. Sigh...we're so Germaphobic around here and people have so many allergies. I'm beginning to think we've made our environement TOO Sterile! I was never so healthy as when I spent every day in Barns. riding horses.....mucking stalls, surrounded by Horses, Cats, Dogs...Mice...God know what. And there I'd be , sitting on a Haypile, eating a Sandwich with my dirty hands...lol. Francie | |

I can understand how some are offended at dogs being allowed in restaurants, I'm not personally, but would respect their wishes. Many other places though could allow them with no real harm to anyone, especially if they are in a carrier.

| Write the letter! I get so frustrated if we are turned away!! IF the tiny dog is enclosed in a purse carrier, I feel like "what right do you have to tell me what I can carry in my purse?!?" Hello! I COULD have a gun in my purse and I'd be more concerned with those kind of people walking around than one with a harmless doggie! Anyway, thats a crazy example, but you know, I feel it is pretty crazy if your doggie is "hidden" away and you know their little paws cannot touch the floor of where you are at. I agree if the dog is walking on a leash and they don't want dogs, but the "rules" should be modified to accept enclosed carriers. We drove 1.5 hours to my stepsons baseball game...OUTSIDE...but at a school and Vixxen was in her carrier and they told me to leave! I was livid! I understand there are irresponsible owners, but one more time, if the dog never comes out of the carrier, what is the harm? Really. Oh I also was turned away at the SF dog show...I was surprised but could kind of understand with all the other show dogs there, you never know how a dog will act and that could be an ugly situation. So though I was surprised that a dog show said no to bringing my dog, I could respect that one I guess! LOL! Good luck!
