| ![]() They relocated them to our downtown area about ten minutes from me but i have never seen them in our neighborhood. I think it is silly to relocate them to an area where they really dont have any prey they can eat besides birds

Human noises in general will frighten them away. So, if you do see one, wave your arms and yell at it, that will temporarily get it to leave. But don't leave your little dog outside without you nearby. I can always tell when one is in our area. We feed songbirds, they are in our yard constantly. If I'm outside and the songbirds get quiet or fly away suddenly - I can just about bet when I look up - I'll see a hawk. They eat songbirds too!!

| ![]() Hawks are very scary and very territorial. There are alot of them where I am and they are NOT afraid of people. Not long ago, one flew INTO the screened deck after Cody and Abby and my dad was right there! It still tried to go after them even with him in between! Please be careful with your little ones! |

| ![]() I live on a mountain and we have a TON of Hawks. I have only seen 2 around my house in the 4 years we have been here. HOWEVER, should one try to get my baby I would try and resolve the issue on way or another.

| ![]() Law or no law, any hawk near my home, and I'll go buy a pellet gun! They are pretty quiet, and I'm sure I could bury a hawk. I'd rather go to jail if necessary to keep my 2 safe. |

| ![]() Are people having problems w/ their furbabies on leashes? I just wondered because you would think on a leash, they would be too close to you? I have heard about bright colored clothing helps, but I don't know. We have tons of hawks, crows, owls, etc here. Early fall, we watched two babies learn to fly. We haven't seen them since. We were told by a game warden a few years ago (one of our neighbors - we live out in the woods, so we really don't have a real neighbor - but he had pit bulls and a big wild cat killed all of his Pit Bulls, not at the same time)...anyway the game warden said that you could only kill something if you seen it attacking your animal or livestock, etc. That is crap because if you see it, it is too late! --well I think anyway! Just like w/ rattlesnakes......we are bordered by national forsest and have been told that the park trades our local deer to somewhere in TX for rattlesnakes (as if we need more). They said that we aren't suppose to kill them because they are protected.......BUT.............I have risked fines and jail time because I don't want little Mojo to became a rattlesnakes meal!!! I am all for animal rights, but I think your pets safety needs to come first! Good luck w/ the hawks! I know they are good for keeping the rodents down and even snakes, but when times get hard, they will become a threat....well, they are to begin w/ I guess.

| ![]() I've been wondering about this because I have hawks around too. Do you think carrying one of those airhorns like people use on boats would deter a bird of prey? If you saw one circling, give a quick blast then grab the babies and run.
