Default Wanna buy from a petstore?

How persuasive!

Quote:
CHRISTMAS PUPPIES FOR SALE
by IMA Shyster.

Ho, ho, ho it's that time of year again!

It is so hard to find an original gift. Why not a
puppy? They are so cute and sure to be a big hit on
Christmas morning. Even somebody that doesn't like
dogs will get attached to the fuzzy little puppy with
the big eyes.
Puppies are truly a gift for everyone.

Our company produces thousands of puppies each year.
We manufacture puppies by the truck load and ship them
to pet stores all over the country.

Now for the first time you can buy direct from the
mill and save hundreds of dollars.

We have all breeds and will have thousands available
for Christmas ranging from 3 weeks old to 6 months.

We recommend that you get them as young as possible
because they are so cute when they are tiny.

Sure they may suffer nutritionally from not having their
mothers' milk, and they may never be able to relate
socially to other dogs but it's worth it to get one
while they are so cute.

All of our dogs will come with authentic papers. Not
that we give a hoot about the pedigree or even make an
attempt to ensure that the papers match the pup but
the papers are authentic and are suitable for framing.

Won't that impress the special someone on your
Christmas list?

These authentic papers mean that you
can also breed your dog, breed genetically deficient
puppies, and make back your original investment many
times over.

Don't worry about producing too many
puppies -- most local governments have an animal
control department that will kill the unwanted dogs
for free.

That's the beauty of our business, if you
sell someone a bad pup, they can have it killed and you can
sell them a new breed next year.

All of our puppies are raised in small wire cages and
learn to relieve themselves where they sleep.

This means you will never have to house train your pup.

You can keep him in the small crate his entire life.

If you have guests over you can always take him out and
clean him up and he will look like a normal dog.

Of course if you do take him out of the crate be careful,
you may never be able to house train your puppy. Be
prepared for other behavioral problems that may arise
out of living in a wire cage from birth until shipment
to the pet store.

Health Problems: Some have accused us of selling
sickly puppies and some even ask if we have any type
of health guarantee.

We guarantee that your puppy will
be alive when you get it.

We may have more health problems
than legitimate breeders but a few trips to the vet
should clear up most problems. Or not.

If it gets too bad, you can always buy a new puppy.

Some breeders waste thousands of dollars testing for
potential genetic health problems. Not us. We save
that money and use it to buy nice stuff for ourselves.

The bottom line is, if you are looking for a long term
family pet to be part of your household for years to
come go to a reputable breeder.

You could also adopt one from a local rescue group or shelter.

But if you're looking for a disposable puppy that looks just
as cute and will only cost a few bucks more, stop by
your local pet store and be sure to ask for the
Puppy Mills Farm brand of puppies. Or better yet order
yours direct from the mill and save even more.

Take advantage of our Christmas special now for a
limited time only, buy 2 sickly puppies at the regular
price and get one nearly dead puppy for free.

There are usually several of these 'almost dead's' in the
pet shops' back room.

Call today to ensure delivery by
Christmas morning 1 900 SICKDOG.

good post and great time of year to do this...i hate how true this is in so many cases it is ....but pet stores are only in the sale of puppies for PROFIT. They do NOT save any dogs from mills - they help KEEP Mills in business and are a huge part of the percentage of dogs that are shipped out every week or day - They want the cutest most needy looking puppies so people will feel bad and buy them on the spot.

I saw it on Puppymillrescue.com This site is soo heartbreaking. I was reading the pest shop stories and it's really terrible. If anyone is interested in reading up on puppymills, and how petstores really work (some of these stories are from pet-store employees) then it's a really interesting site.

As someone that unfortunately bought from a pet store (I knew better, hubby woulnd't listen, grrr! ) I can attest to the "almost dead" part. We just about lost her NOW he says he'll listen

I can't understand how these people can sleep at night, knowing what they do hurts so many

I know some dogs are sick from pet stores... But some dogs are sick from the breeders...

i know alot of people whos pet shop dogs are healthy, I don't know any one's who are sick...

Not to encourage people to buy from them, but it just is not true that they all get sick when they come from a pet shop. the pet shop here bathes them, grooms them, puts dogs together in the same crate to play (Big crate) they are clean. and all seem healthy. I know not all are his way but I know not all pet shops are as bad as some of you would like to think... they puppy mills thing is probably true even though they tell me it isn't. But I still believe these little ones need a loving home.

My Kallie originally came from a pet store because the first owners thought she was soooooooooo darling and cute..........then along came baby and out went the dog. .....But she is with us now and we have had no problems in the two years we have had her. But, I would not buy from a petstore.........maybe from an individual that's not a BYB or directly from a breeder. Don't have to make that decision now, I have two sweetie pies.

Your pet shop must be the exception to the rule, and for that, I'm thankful for you and Chewy I wasn't as lucky myself, unfortunately, but Luna is doing much better now and we probably saved her life. I hate to think what could have happened to her if someone with less Yorkie knowledge (not that I'm an expert or anything) had purchased her. I wish all pet stores treated their animals nicely, but it all comes down to the almighty dollar to most of them.

I know that people will still buy from pet stores, it's just a fact of life. It doesn't make us bad people, and YES, these animals also need love and would probably just be euthanized if not bought quickly enough

Great thread, I hope some can learn about the horrors of buying petstore puppies but at times its like banging your head against the wall.

Maybe some of the puppies are healthy but that does not justify the thousands suffering in mills to put those puppies in the store.
