| If there's any chance that it's a urinary tract infection, I wonder why he didn't give you antibiotics now.

Hi didnt give me antibiotics because Royce does not have signs of UTC : no blood in urine and he has no difficulty urinating at all . All what the vet saw is a few white blood cells in his urine under the microscope he said i have to bring him back in 3 weeks for another urine test and if white blodd cells are stillin his urine then it could be a utc, a cyst or a tumor .

| If he said that there is a chance it could be a UTI he should have given you antibiotics! It could be early and he just isn't displaying other symptoms and the earlier you catch UTI's the better...like above posts stated they can get BAD!! And a course of antibiotics really wouldn't hurt anything if it turns out not to be an infection on the other hand three weeks of a UTI could do lots of damage! I wish you and your little one luck...I would call the vet back and ask him about it again or take him to another vet. I certainly will keep you both in my thoughts and hope he's fine soon!! Please keep us updated |

| I am not a vet, but very confused as to why he did not give you an antibiotic for him. I will be praying for you both.

the vet said the the number of white blood cells is minimal it could be nothing or it could be utc, cyst or tumor, that's why he wants me to bring him back in 3 weeks for another urine analysis . The vet also asked me to monitor his water consumption for 3 days : if he drinks more that 150 ml a day then its abnormal and i will have to take him back to the vet on wednesday for further tests

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali had white cells in her urine and they but her right on an antibiotic. She alsi had crystals in her urine. The meds cleared it right up. The only signs I had of a UTI were she kept licking down there and she peed on my bed which she had never done, so I took a sample in and they gave me medicine.

What if he does/ends up having an assymptomatic UTI (shows no typical signs and symptoms). The bacterial infection could travel to his kidneys. 3 weeks is an awful long time to do a second urinalysis. My very personal opinion is that I would be taking my baby to another vet STAT! Good luck to you both

| Bacteria can be seen in the urine so if there was no bacteria then there is no UTI. A few white blood cells could come from contamination from the prepuce (penis opening). I would question more why he wants you to come back. Why did you have his urine tested in the first place? |

| I would go to another vet just to make sure. This doesn't sound right.
