| both of mine love children to death. that is why i dont u/s when they state "not good with children" or they will not place a puppy with children. mary anne was 1 1/2 when we got muffie then 2 1/2 when we got kirby. my neighbors kids were 8-4-2 and muffie and kirby loves them all. they would rather play with the children than adults. my only problem is they both will jump up on the little ones and sometimes the little ones may get scratched.

| JJ loooooooooooves kids I don't know where it came from though LOL.There were no kids at the breeder's house, I work as a nanny and, when I brought him to work first time, he met the 8 year old boy I look after. I have never seen his tail wag that fast before . Also, the boy is very gentle around him, so he's never had a bad experience with kids before. JJ also adores the other (older) boy. But it might be a personality trait though, just like not everybody is crazy about small kids, not all dogs love them. Some only tolerate, some don't like. It might be about all that energy and swiftness kids emit.

| Reuger does great with kids. I have a 14 yo daughter and 5 grandchildren from 10 years down to 4 years and he's always right in the middle of what ever they're doing. My daughter really rough-houses with him and he just loves it. When he was a puppy I worked with him on not putting his teeth on anyone. When I played with him and felt his teeth on my hands I would let out a loud yell. Any way it worked for me. If Reuger were to EVER barr his teeth and growl like he was ready to bite, especially at the kids, he would be out of here faster than he could blink his eye. That's not behavior that I would ever allow.

| peeka is awesome with my kids 13, 8,4, if my 13 year old gets to rough with me or the 4 year old he barks and gives him heck, my emerald is pretty laid back, is a real mommy's suck, but has jealousy issues with my four year old for example, if emerald is laying on me and my youngest comes to cuddle me is growls at her and even has tried to nip at her, raven used to very very timid wouldn't go near anyone but is slowly learning that we are family and mommy is the one who usually gives in for treats or loves, i call her my little shadow!!!!!!!!1

Someone on YT (don't remember who) once suggested handing a small treat to strangers to give to their yorkie (who did not like strangers). This might also work for the kid situation. If the kids give little treats, maybe something different then they ever get from you, then maybe they will start liking the kids better. I use cheerios for mine, when he goes in his litter box. They are little enough to give frequently & I know mine loves them. In the book, Puppies for Dummies, the author suggests putting a smear of butter on your hand to teach a young pup to come when called. You could definately try this for your situation. If your yorkie learns that kids have sweet hands, then maybe he'll want to lick rather then nip. I haven't had any issues with Snickers & small children, but I will say he does growl at my 10 year old daughter if he's had enough of her play style. He's never snipped though. | |

| Coco loves any living, breathing thing. She LOVES to lick babies, especially their toes and that makes them giggle. Kids are gentle with her and she's not afraid of them. She doesn't get angry or aggressive at all. I have a 4 year old nephew and he has LOADS of energy, but she likes chasing him. She will find a kid out of nowhere and run to be played with. She Adores kids

| Roxy loves everyone. She will bark at some animals, but still tries to make friends with them. She is very submissive, so her way of greeting anyone is to lay her head down and stick her butt in the air and go around in circles. I think her submissiveness is why she is so east to train and minds so well(most of the time), and she is a great watchdog. She does have a stubborn streak when she is outside, but will respond very quickly to my "I mean business" voice. We took her to an outside craft show yesterday, which was her first experience around alot of strangers. I couldn't have been prouder of her. Everyone wanted to pet her and she tried to make friends with all the other dogs, even two giant sheepdogs. She behaved very well. I think we really lucked out when we got her. She has been very healthy, eats things she shouldn't with no ill effects, and has a perfect temperment. She was the last puppy left from a lady's 5th litter of yorkies. AND, she is very smart. She plays soccer with me all the time. She will guard the ball and can even get it away from me and take it across the yard. (Yea, I'm braggin' but that's a in the Yorkie Mom's job description). I know they are an incredibly smart breed. I just had no idea how smart. I wish I had more than one. |

| Without supervision or correction Harley will be nippy and growly with children. He has gotten used to my little cousin Donovan (5 yrs old) but that's after months of training and getting used to him and teaching Donovan how to act around him. If he's around kids he doesn't know especially loud, active touchy feely kids he can be nasty. I don't think it's really the breed though I think it goes accordingly with different dogs. Each dog has their own individual personalities, likes and dislikes. Harley, just happens to dislike crazy wee kiddies!
