Roxy loves everyone. She will bark at some animals, but still tries to make friends with them. She is very submissive, so her way of greeting anyone is to lay her head down and stick her butt in the air and go around in circles. I think her submissiveness is why she is so east to train and minds so well(most of the time), and she is a great watchdog. She does have a stubborn streak when she is outside, but will respond very quickly to my "I mean business" voice. We took her to an outside craft show yesterday, which was her first experience around alot of strangers. I couldn't have been prouder of her. Everyone wanted to pet her and she tried to make friends with all the other dogs, even two giant sheepdogs. She behaved very well. I think we really lucked out when we got her. She has been very healthy, eats things she shouldn't with no ill effects, and has a perfect temperment. She was the last puppy left from a lady's 5th litter of yorkies. AND, she is very smart. She plays soccer with me all the time. She will guard the ball and can even get it away from me and take it across the yard. (Yea, I'm braggin' but that's a in the Yorkie Mom's job description). I know they are an incredibly smart breed. I just had no idea how smart. I wish I had more than one. |
