with 5 little ones, I too use washable pads, I have done that for years now, the gang mostly goes out to the yard a couple of times a day but a day like yesterday that was raining ALL day, they go in the enclosed porch in pee pads. i do change the pads every day when the dogs use them, I also have a genie hamper that i keep the pads for a day if necessary without odors. and i wash them with detergent and a full cap of white vinegar and never had a problem with lingering smells.
