| I was just in Europe with my students over the Easter break...this is what I observed: Not one Beiwer, I saw a few yorkies, and most had their tails, only one had the tail off.... I had heard that Europe does not dock the tails anymore....this is not true..there are some that are still docking them. Personally, If it were my dog, I would not get it done...why would you?? because of looks? because its the thing to do?......they call it amputation now.... JMHO....is all..... I am getting a Biewer in two weeks, the tail is beautiful....OMG....it will not be docked!

| YT Addict | Tink's tail is docked... and I do not think it was done properly. It is TINY - all other yorkies I have seen had docked tails that were at least around 1 inch long. Tink's is probably 1/4 of an inch. When she wags her little "nubbie" - it doesn't look right, like she has to put a lot of effort into moving it. I love her no matter what, I am just wondering more and more as time goes on about the level of breeder we acquired her from... From her unnatural looking docked tail to her health issues (I was 16, 11 years ago and was unaware of how important finding a reputable breeder is)I personally would prefer a natural tail. I think they are so pretty and plumy. ![]() Plus, no pain for the puppy. |

| Abbi has her natural tail. It's so cute when it's curled up and over her backside. I love it! |

| Sparkles tail is docked but if we get another puppy I would not have a pup with a docked tail it's unnecessary unless your showing or breeding my sparkle is my baby I love her either way but next time (oh and there will be a next time ) we will have our pup intact. |

| YT 500 Club Member | I just got a new baby girl with tail intact. I prefer the look of the stub, but cannot bear to think of the pain involved in cutting off something with a nerve through it just for looks. |

| Zeus's tail is docked, and we love it. We call it his nubbins. When we come home, he gives us nubbins lovins!! I know, we're crazy. Of course, when we got him the dock was already done. |

| Max and Sasha are both docked. But if I had a choice, I would not have it done.

| Cuddles' tail is docked but Cookie's tail is natural. I like how the longer tail looks though because it is up in the air more frequently and not tucked under.

| I think a long tail looks fine. But I don't think long or short makes a difference if the tail is up or down. My dogs always have there tail up. |

| Buddybear has his tail with plumage. It curls over his back, so cute, plus he is mostly black but has a streak of brown up the back of his tail ..... He was 3 1/2 months when I got him, so cute. |

| Yorkie Yakker | My Oscar's tail isn't docked and it looks so beautiful. He constantly wags it, it makes me smile a lot, when he does I live in the UK and that isn't done here. The fact it's going to cause your baby harm, please leave it. I would personally hate my Baby's tail to be docked. |

| mine is docked... i personally HATED cropped tails before getting kupo.. and since most yorkies i knew had theirs cropped, i was not really fond of yorkies... but after seeing him, i fell in love i didn't have any choice on whether or not his tail could be kept long or be docked, but... if i could change it.. i would have asked her to not dock his tail.. i still prefer long tails.. lol |

| YT 1000 Club Member | My puppies have their tails and I LOVE them! They are so cute and they curl them over their backs and they wag them so much! I asked for my puppy to have it's tail left and my friend told me she was against docking so none of the puppies tails would be docked while they were with her. That meant when I got a second puppy, he also had his tail! They are so cute and I want all my Yorkies in the future to have their tails. The funniest thing is when the puppies are playing and they grab each other by the tail and throw the other one to the ground. Then the other one does the same to the other puppy. That or they lock cheeks by grabbing each other by the cheek and not giving in until one cries Uncle (whimpers) and then they both let go. LOL
