| children and yorkie/yorkies? Just curious how many people out there have a small child/children and a yorkie? I have 3 kids oldest is 15 second 11 and my youngest is almost 5. I think most yorkies and small children get along well, as long as the child has been taught how to handle and treat a dog. Just curious of everybodys opinions? |

| I have two daughters, 9 and 4. Lily thinks the 4 year old is her personal chew toy but never chews on the 9 year old. She is all kisses with my oldest. Funny how different she acts with them.

| My children are all older . But I have had smaller dogs around my children when they was young. I think it all depends on the parents and the kids and if they are learned how to treat a pet. I have seen a lot of small children around small animals that dont know how to treat them and its very sad. My sister inlaw got her daughter a hampster once. and well It lived maybe 24 hours. But then again I have seen very small children with small animals and have done very well with them. It all depends on if they have been taught to be gentle with these small animals. and to all the parents who have taught their children well. |

| I have 4 kids..17 15 13 and a 3 year old..I have always had dogs around my kids and I've never had a problem with my kids hurting our dogs. But I don't let the kids rough house the dogs (they play but rough housing is different) and I don't let the dogs bite..not ever..I have always had dogs..but I have to say I would be more worried having a dog around my baby then my baby around my dog meaning..dogs can bite and do. I won't have a bitin dog or kid lol...so I teach my dogs to play nice and the kids as well..

| I have 3 children, ages 10, 8 and 5. My Tinkerbell and my children get along, but the 5 year old I don't really let him "play" with her because I am afraid he might have some type of accident I'll regret. I make sure he is suppervised around Tinkerbell. I do think Yorkies and children can get along as long as the children are taught to respect their size. |

| Ihave a 3 yr old granddaughter that's is wonderful with Macy. The play ball together and actually take turns throwing it for the other to chase. The only problem I've had is Kassie trying to let Macy taste everything she has to eat. |

| I'm sure your little Yorkie can get along with your children. Just make sure they know how to handle such a small little dog. Yorkies aren't as fragile as a lot of people think -- they are very tough, tenacious, little terriers. I think our main fear is "dropping them" - I think when it comes to just playing - they will actually wear your children out. Surprisingly, I have found more problems with little children and pups because the pups drive the little children crazy. When they go through their teething stage - and decided to play, bite, and chew a little child 24/7 --it's no fun. I hear many adults complain about this painful biting all the time - imagine what it must be like for a little child who can't get away!!!! Good luck! Carol Jean |

| I have 5 children, one daughter and 4 sons--23, 17, 13, 10, and 6. They all love the yorkies and the yorkies love them. The oldest (my daughter) also has a yorkie and he is definitely her baby! Never had a problem. |

| I have 4 kids. 11,10, 7, 6 I've had my yorkie for 2 years so the youngest was 4 when we got her. They are all well behaved with the yorkie. Although we have had a couple of accidents with the dog and kids. Nothing to major though. My oldest sat in a rocking chair when the yorkie was 9wks and she was under the chair. When he sat down the chair leaned back and pinched her leg. Took her to the vet and over $100.00 later she was fine just hurt a little. (nothing broke.) |
