My children are all older . But I have had smaller dogs around my children when they was young. I think it all depends on the parents and the kids and if they are learned how to treat a pet. I have seen a lot of small children around small animals that dont know how to treat them and its very sad. My sister inlaw got her daughter a hampster once. and well It lived maybe 24 hours. But then again I have seen very small children with small animals and have done very well with them. It all depends on if they have been taught to be gentle with these small animals. and
