I've had my yorkie for 2 years so the youngest was 4 when we got her. They are all well behaved with the yorkie. Although we have had a couple of accidents with the dog and kids. Nothing to major though. My oldest sat in a rocking chair when the yorkie was 9wks and she was under the chair. When he sat down the chair leaned back and pinched her leg. Took her to the vet and over $100.00 later she was fine just hurt a little. (nothing broke.)
