| ![]() Awwwe. Is this your first litter? If so, know that the mamma will have to pee frequently and will want right back in with the babies. You will lose her as a companion for a little while, but don't worry, she will come back to you. Her first priority will be her pups....and be thankful for that....it is awful when they don't have maternal instincts. Don't try to get her attention and make her too comfortable away from the pups...she needs to be with them almost constantly in the beginning. Ok, I'll shut up now. ![]() |

| ![]() No, it was not something you did. Mother Nature outwits us sometimes and we are left to question and wonder and grieve. There is a "thing" called "Failing Puppy Syndrome" and no matter what we do the puppy dies. I am so sorry to hear of the death BUT I am glad you named her and that you buried her under a tree. I am crying once again for my Jesse- he too is buried under a tree-a holly tree- and when it is rainy or cold I look out my kitchen window where so many babies are buried-everything from snakes, frogs, turtles, mice and ever so many more pets- and I cry for him. BUT, I am trying to remember that he has so many friends with him that he is not alone..Your baby's soul has crossed Rainbow Bridge where all is light and good.. |
